  1. After a month of no fishing due to just bullcrap circumstances I finally got on the water after work yesterday. Best part was the wife knew how much I needed it and basically forced my out. So I hit a favorite pond and I had a bunch of fun with the biggest 5 on the nose. Couple other shmediums, just great to set the hook!

Hey y’all here are a few baits I’ve been working on. A little 2piece bilked wake and walk the dog style topwaters. The two piece got smoked by a decent fish while I was swim testing today unfortunately it came unbuttoned. Really happy with the purple one piece, super easy to walk with the rod tIp or just reel twitches.

  15. full moon had em feeding last night! Finally my fish have started eating wakes again. This was one of 5 fish, not counting the giant i dumped on it 2 casts before. Bait is alot heavier than im used to in a wake bait and its super easy for them to throw it if you don't grind em. Unfortunately didnt see the biggun but played her too much and she was able to toss it in the dark. 3 casts later grabbed this guy that smacked it on a pause, just under 4

  21. I’ve been working on some resin rat baits the past couple of months. They’re 6.8oz and 8.5” without the tail. The profile of the bait is really large. Without the lip in the bait swims and wobbles on the surface. With the lip in it will wake and crank down about 10”. The lip has an abnormal shape to it which helps keep it in the bait. The second reason it stays in is rubber bands that run from behind the lip to the line tie. I’m 16 and have been making baits for about 10 months now. 23. Continuing to experiment throwing swimbaits on a budget, primarily throwing stuff that doubles in my saltwater kit for calicos. This shimano waxwing was quick to get them fired up- must be the Zig zag erratic pattern. Went 3/6 in 30 minutes. Right at dark I missed a much larger figure right on the bank that displaced so much water so violently I was left wondering if it could have been a huge cat? Followed it across then made a move but missed, I noticed the wake too late. Anyways, now I’m looking for swimbaits that swim similar to a waxwing, still new so all recos appreciated. Tag black market listings If appropriate. thank you. IMG_1391.MOV

  24. You can cut a little off the bottom of the knob and they will fit with the handle with the original hawtech wheel. Been fishing mine like this and no issues at all. You only lose about a 1/4 inch. This is for the 110 handle

  25. @chefchris no sleeves or caps needed, he just pushes them on I believe.

  26. Sorry, wish I could help, but I don’t have any info on the hawgtech mod.

  29. I also have mine paired up with a smaller reel which is a daiwa steez tws which I think is a really great combination for the smaller side of swimbaits.

  40. For clear you can always get another airbrush and solely use it for clearcoating. One with a bigger needle. A siphon fed airbrush along with a 3oz glass jar does the trick.

A pleasure to get a chance to test this bait out, just started to learn how to fish cranking swimbaits. Received the bait yesterday and immediately went to fish a little before the sunset. Got this sweet fish on the outside of a grass line, lost another fish after this one that didn't bite the bait well. The pics came from a video my lady got towards the end as I flipped the fish, had to crop out a pic. Thanks @danthefisherman! Hoping to get some salty bass on it as well. The bait cranks down so we'll and slowly rises, I'm able to twitch it in place down at it's cranked depth as well and high stick the bait to make it swim a foot under the water to fish it over grass. I was worried I might snag the mesh or pipes at my local water but I deliberately threw it those places to see if it'd get hung up and it swam over it withour any hangups.

  47. Man, I've been resisting the temptation to grab an 806 since they first came out...why you gotta fuel the fire?
    1 point
  48. I have an 806 1-5 fury, I beat the bajesus out of it. Zero issues for about 8months so far. I drag it out every trip 3-4 times a week in very rough areas. I lean it on cactus's, manzanita bushes, Arizona desert terrain, poke my way through brush to find hard to reach spots. For the price of $120 idk how you could ask for anything more. 3 other rods I have had to replace tips, and multiple guides. Wait for a sale and get it for $100 or less!
