PB SB FL
Bassboydave reacted to jachandl1989 for a topic
Still in my first year with swimbait fishing and I know this wasn't caught on a $200 bait, and I know it's not a giant, especially for Florida. But I am having fun. Not my overall PB but now I have something to go up against. 13 Fishing Concept A3 BPS Predator Muskie Rod Shimano Armajoint 190SF1 point -

Chunky Crankdown
Doomlurker reacted to Hoosier_Hawgz for a topic
While I was starting on the paint for my creek chub glide, I had the idea to try working on a medium-sized crankdown. Where I fish has had some grass begin popping up from the heat lately, so I wanted something bigger than a standard crankbait that I could burn past those patches to pull those fish out. Since I had so many difficulties figuring out the weight with the thin profile in the glide, I made sure to keep the body much thicker for this bait. I also kept the facial detail to a minimum just for simplicity’s sake and it’s all ready for paint now!1 point -

Best Budget Swimbait Reel?
GavinDH reacted to Mossyback Angler for a topic
Cardiff is a great deal with a proven track record, but only comes in at one speed of 5.8:1 so you do limit yourself a bit. I know this from experience of using three of them on the regular. As for price, I have purchased all mine used off eBay or SU for under $80 down to $60. They dial in real easy, with minimal back lashing . I have handed mine over to people who never used a baitcaster, and they were slinging baits with no issues. They are also super easy to service. I learned this when one I purchased was loaded with sand, after a good tear down, cleaning and lubricating, it’s ended up being extremely smooth. Check out @KeepinItReelFishing YouTube video. Carl goes into some great detailed information regarding the Shimano Cardiff you may find interesting: There are many options out there to choose from, and others will chime in with their recommendations and experiences as well. Which should give you a solid list of options to choose from.1 point -
Bite-Sized Shad
Mason reacted to danthefisherman for a topic
An old thread (and wow I didn’t realize how old this build is), but this new “prototype” looks too juicy to not share before I lose it to a tree or something…again. High vis pattern for those low vis water conditions:1 point -

Bass won’t eat Swimbaits
Bassbooger 2 reacted to SwingAway for a topic
Quite possible those fish have become conditioned/educated? Pretty small lake and I'd guess you and your buddies are likely not the only ones hitting it hard with big baits. Just speculation, but I do think this is becoming a trend on many bodies of water.1 point -
Swimbait Collections
brootalititties reacted to CaseRhodes for a topic
Definitely not anywhere near most places of your guys collections but for me just being 17 it works for now lol. Especially with these diesel prices Been working my butt off in this Texas heat to purchase some of these and I definitely will continue to do it cause you just can’t beat swimbaiting in my opinion. Hoping to later add on to the collection with LDC or Leviathan Rods, Shimano Antares DC MD, Calcutta, 86 Baits, Hinkle (mostly the shad but would definitely add the trout), Butch Brown tuned 250’s, Sly Guys Bluegill, Bucca Trick Shad, and some wakes. Any other suggestions on equipment is definitely appreciated1 point -
I had the same experience. Would always come to the top, even when fished slow. Tries different ring/hook combos. Didnt seen to matter. Was not impressed at all. Sold it soon after1 point

Working2Fish I use vicious 30 lb mono now. Line diameter is 017. I've tried 20lb red label floro and strike king contra 20 lb floro with the same results. Never had any issues like I'm having with this one. It sinks perfectly horizontal. Noses to the surface rather quick with just a few chops1 point

Custom lake shirts
Bassbooger 2 reacted to chefchris for a topic
cool idea, but for small states like all of us in new england, it would be more spot burning than anything, unless you got a lake like "johnstons pond" which is the pond that abuts the city dump, always tell everyone thats where i caught fish1 point
