Against the grain here, but I'd roll with a 7'6" to 7'11 fast action jig rod. I've found them to b way more sensitive than lighter rated swimbait rods. Most big jig rods with throw up to 2 oz comfortably2 points -

Thank you for your help! They definitely don’t sink at the same rate, I’ll make that adjustment and see. I’ll also double check my hinge slots. I’ll post some picture when I get back around the bait.1 point -

https://meihotacklebox.com/collections/14-inch-cases/products/meiho-versus-vs-3043nddm-black-single-compartment-case SBUG bait wrap for when fishing, these for storing swimbaits, excluding softbaits ofc.1 point -
Have a brand new (never even had a reel on it) LDC MH. Wanting to trade for a Leviathan XH in same condition, high quality Daiwa or Shimano reels. I’d also be willing sell for a reasonable price. I’m in the Austin area so face to face is preferred but not opposed to shipping. Still have the tube from LDC so it would be packaged safely. I shipped a rod a while back on here and had zero issues. PM me for questions.1 point

For me it's not about the length of each section but the weight. On a glide each half needs to sink or low float at the same rate when they're not attached together. Each section needs to sink or low float, level or the joint can bind from side to side and or from top to bottom. Make sure if you're using screw eyes that they are tight and level and the pin has a little play inside them so they don't hang up on each other. Check to make sure part of the body in the joint area isn't hanging up somewhere. Check to see if the screw eye's are rubbing the body in the eye pocket. Glidebait swim issues are usually related to the joint area. My .02, hope this helps... Pics would help, with the bait together and the sections apart1 point

I have a Boga Grip, 15lb model (1/4lb increments). No batteries to go bad, no digital screens to break, water proof and I got it certified by the IGFA just in case I catch something record worthy. Also has a built in fish gripper/grabber if you catch a toothy critter or cat.1 point -

3 only as of now. I love these rods even being 4P rods. I never really take them apart and they fish great! Would love some drt rods to add to this. 7’8” H Valkyrie + Zillion 1000 HD w/ 17lb - good for all baits under 3oz hard and soft. 7’11” XH Valkyrie + Tatula 300 7.1:1 w/ 20lb - a poor man’s black jack, throws the K9, any 5 oz bait and even can do things like a 250 very well. Amazing rod for the 8 inch magdraft also. 8’0” XXH Valkryie + Tatula 300 7.1:1 w/ 25lb - the rod that can do a ton. It can comfortably handle the ghost and that’s where I max out personally. Quite stout and great for soft baits as well. video on YouTube on deep dive on all 3 soon1 point -
