Its been brutal. Late nights after work, 15 or so skunks in a row and snapping off some nice baits......first world problems. I got my first soft plastic fish and it was a pretty decent one.2 points -

First few of the year out here in Kansas. Tk w/ lip and mode A tail has been the juice. This spot holds some 5+lbers which for Kansas isn’t small. Hope to hit the whole creek next week on the paddle board.1 point

I have found that the transfer tail really does help out the action of the TK in glide mode, insofar as it seems to be easier to keep the bait in a consistent cadence. One other thing that I have noticed with both the TK and K9 is you can get them to dive deeper with a medium speed cadence. If you watch the bait, after it turns and stops, it will hover for a second and then turn nose down (which is the natural resting position). Then if you start the next input while it is in the nose down position, it will continue to work deeper. I have been able to replicate this with both the TK and the K9, glide mode and short lip / v-tail configurations.1 point

Monday Monday Monday (monster jam voice)
Backyardbassin reacted to andrewbee for a topic
Hey guys, spring is almost here! Wanted to give an update since moving from NYC to North Jersey. Ive been given 1 day a week to fish and man Im so thankful; even more since its Monday and I rarely deal with boat traffic. So yesterday I explored a HUGE reservoir, bigger than 600 acres, my 12v 54ah battery died on my way back to the launch and thankfully I brought a paddle. Found this one tucked into a cove next to a beaver dam. Threw the K9 (mode b) and watched her come out and crush the tail. Water temps were mid 50s She went 4lb 9oz, took a few pictures, we enjoyed our time together and she swam away, hopefully she can bring someone else as much joy as she did when I caught her. Also including a bigger fish I caught in the rain on the deps 250 before the eclipse. Personally I feel this fish was bigger than the 4lb 9oz but I didn't have scale when she was caught Fun fact: BOTH fish were caught around 1pm Thanks for reading and until next time Andrew -1 point -

Gomexus Cyberbait
MountainMan83 reacted to WadeInTheWater for a topic
I haven't had time to film/edit with the eclipse and what not, but Gomexus reached out and asked me a few questions that I answered and below I'm going to paste my response. The short is that this bait has some moments where you're like holy crap that looks epic, and then there's times where you say what the heck is that! Then, because there's so many combinations of settings and tails, remembering what's what can cause issues, especially if you're on the bank and can't access the bait if you snag. This bait has a ton of potential. Hi Wade, I hope this email finds you well. At Gomexus, we are committed to continuously improving our products and services to better meet the needs of our customers. To achieve this, we greatly value your feedback and would appreciate a few moments of your time to share your thoughts on your recent purchase of our Cyberbait by answering these quick questions. 1. Have you tested Cyberbait on water yet? If so, what do you think of its swim action? 2. What are some flaws you’ve noticed that Cyberbait might have? 3. What other suggestions do you have for our future improvements? Such as: size, pattern, action, parts, etc. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always here to help. We genuinely appreciate your continued support and look forward to hearing from you soon. Hi there, I have tested the Cyberbait on the water. I fished the bait for about 6 hours. I think the bait has a lot of potential given all the different options. One place the bait shines is in its ability to walk on the surface and sub-surface. The bil is a great thing to have, but it needs more versions. Some flaws: The biggest issue I have is with so many combinations (bil in, bil out, 3 different tail angle settings, and 3 different tails) it can be very difficult to know what does what, and when you get it wrong, you risk snagging the bait or not catching the fish. The bil connection is not as tight as it should be, and there needs to be more than one bil. I found the included bil to dive quite deep and quite quickly for where I was that day. I also had trouble figuring out exactly what each tail did, but I think it had mostly to do with the depth control and walking action. The issue is that when I found a combination that was very good, if I changed it and then wanted to go back to the previous combination, it was quite hard to remember what that combo was. Some important suggestions I have are to offer a couple different bils (wake, roll, shallow, deep) and label them. Label the tails for what they help with or do. Label the tail-angle position if possible. Create an in-depth, well-translated, write-up of how to use the bait and at least 5 different setting combinations in detail of action and rod/reel techniques. And please create some sort of illustration to help users with what settings do what as a quick-guide. This bait is too expensive to lose because of having to test it to get it where the fisherman needs, or just trying something new and learning the hard way what it does in certain combinations. I think you should offer different color tails as well (maybe that can be how the user knows what tail is what). I’m sure I will have more to add as I fish this bait more. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need more clarity. Thanks, Wade1 point -
Hit up the river bend by my apartment after work to get some fishing in with the last hour or so of daylight. Pulled a couple little <30” followers on a glide, but none would commit so I switched to the Nekosogi DSR and second it cranked to the bottom this fish tanked it! went 34”-35” long on the tape and 16.13 lbs on the scale. Pretty high-average for length but an exceptionally healthy egg laden female which puts it two pounds short of my PB. The longest pike I’ve heard of being measured in here was 52” 34 lbs which was a floater collected on private land. A 52” fish with a girth like this 34” is a creature to fantasize about.1 point

DRT Varial Handle Questions
BigBaitThirty reacted to LowSpinner for a topic
You are correct, just a slight correction to compatibility. I'll offer up an easier way at looking at it. WCZ/DRT flats and any knob with a J on it requires the MK1 wheels. Anything with without a J on it requires the dish wheels.1 point -
DRT Riser Jack Findings/Mods
MountainMan83 reacted to chefchris for a topic
I scored two of these on the DRT drop, And have been playing around with the lemonade colored one, other one got traded to a long time member for retail bait swap. so far here’s what I’ve found (I’m fishing it on 50lb braid to 25lb mono leader, daiwa cvz 203 reel, Phenix M1 heavy rod) I’ll start with the bad (IMHO) lipless wake mode with v tail is a joke. Looks like a stick dragging in the water. Literally no action. Will it get bit? Probably but nothing I would throw. no lip options. I did mod a regular Klash 9 lip to fit by epoxying a small piece to the back side. It does work but dives super deep 5-6’ and fast which way be a good thing but the action is too tight and it doesn’t wiggle (more on this later) I plan on making some other lips from lexan stock (coffin/square bill styles) cant work it like a spook or anything with lip out either, tail section is too heavy, might be able to add weight to the lip slot (think deps 250 sk conversion) and make it sit level and get more action the good: Bait casts amazing due to the almost all the weight being in the tail section, I wasn’t even trying to cast it full send and was getting crazy cast. It also cast very accurately do to the weighting and tight joint. I like the action, I knew it was dive deep as it was covered in the videos, easily gets down 3’, the burn/pause is sweet. Can twitch it and burn again. profile/weight is pretty perfect for any light/medium set up. can slow crank it and wake it just on or under the surface with the v tail mods: again no lip options but I’m working on messing with some coffin/square bill styles that are similar/slightly longer than stock. I think lip out with some weight added to make the bait sit level will make it come alive (already working on this) the Klash 9 whale tail (I think that’s what it’s called) works awesome in Mode A, see pics for both lipless and lip in options. I actually like it over the v tail. Actually wakes/swims with the lip out on the surface in sort of a hunting action. With the lip in it still cranks down but the tail gives it more of a square bill wandering action. the joint section on the front is 100% sandable/shaveable to increase the travel of the joint. (See pic, arrow is pointing to the excess plastic) you could easily sand it down a lot and not have to worry about the body as it isn’t close to the seam like on an s waver. so everyone complaining the swim is too tight it’s easily modded. I think increasing the joint travel will help a lot with the above mentioned wake/mode a tail and just the general swim with both tails. I’ll be shaving the joint down on mine soon. havent messed with hook/rings sizes just yet but will be switching over to my preferred KVD mustad hooks and rosco rings. one thing I did notice is that retrieve speed seems to be a big factor and using the ring/clip, some of them actions worked better tied to the ring/others clip to nose. Overall I think it’s a sick bait for the $75-100 retail price, has a ton of options/mods if you’re willing to mess with em. It’s important to remember it’s not a tiny Klash/klash9 so guys buying it for that will be bummed out. ill try and shoot some video this weekend in clear water. I went solo testing and it was 99 degrees here and water wasn’t super clean.1 point
