  1. I fished Maui in 2017. I found most of the shoreline very rocky so any time you touched bottom that was the end of the lure you were throwing. The best lure for me was a 1/2 oz to 1 oz Kastmaster. Also a curly tailed grub on a jig head worked well. The locals call fishing from the bank with rods smaller than surf rods “whipping”. I took a 3 piece 7’ med/heavy travel rod with 20lb braid on a 3,000 size reel. If I went back I would take the same set up. You should be able to catch something at the nearest beach access to where you are staying. Good lick
  2. I have fly fished for them on the Paraná River in Argentina. That river is large and off color we did best on dark colored flies. If the river you plan on fishing is also off color I would take dark baits that put off some thump.
  3. Thanks for the new website and the chance at new gear!
  4. Any reason is a good reason to get on the water to me. Most weekends work for me and a week day is possible if a bite is hot or a trout stocking is scheduled. I have had my eye on a lake that is about 40 miles south of Lexington.
  5. I just moved outside of Lexington back in July and have yet to throw a big bait in Kentucky! Currently I am boat-less but hope to change that in the coming year. I think I will pick up a kayak to get me on the water here soon. From talking to other anglers in the area it's sounds like there are a few guys that like to throw swimbaits in the central Kentucky area.
  6. I have had a lot of luck getting Hudds out of riprap from the bank. I wouldn't be worried about losing baits it will happen but not near as much as u would think. Throwing them on mono is the key to getting your bait back. The stretch in the mono provides a spring action when you load your rod once snagged and then quickly release the tension forcing the bait away from you and out of the snag. You could try a lure retriever from the bank but from my exsperience it doesn't work well. If you can afford a Tranx you can afford to lose some Hudds. Remember to post pics of those Lakers!
  7. The muskie guys that I know that fish big baits for big muskies run 130lb. flourocarbon leaders. Some guys may even run heavier. Fish at your risk.
  8. What is that new bait of yours?
  9. 11 mile and Spinney reservoirs. they are next to each other and hold pike and would be your best bet for throwing swimbaits. Yes there are bass to be caught in colorado but not worth it in my opinion if you are coming from Texas.
  10. I fish a Abu Record on my hudd rod and love it. I often fish to fast and the record slows me down. Never had a problem with it. It is an older model made in Sweden with the power handle.
  11. TW has a video from ICAST of the V2 and it shows the new 12". Check it out. I think it's a good looking bait when the guy slowly drags it across his little test tank.
  12. MS slammer eel traded. Really would love to trade my punker for a poppa walka just like the one Vedak has for sale. So someone buy his bait and trade it to me. Or I might have to just sell my punker. Thanks for looking
  13. Looking to make a trade for trout patterned baits. I would love a 8" TT, rago poppa walka, 6" or 8" wood punker, realprey 7.75" trout with line tie on top, profumo walk the dog bait. Thanks
  14. I believe I have responded to all pms. I have acquired the hudd that I was looking for today. I still have the 8" wood punker for trade and may trade a white slammer eel that I have. I would say that the punker is a 8 out of ten and the slammer a 7. No real marks from use just from riding in the box. Still very interested in a 6" wood punker in trout or a poppa walka in trout. I have never owned a Triple trout so that would be of interest to me also. Thanks for looking.
  15. Still looking for trades for the punker. Open to just about anything that I find interesting. Also would be willing to trade a white slammer eel. Thanks
  16. I am looking to trade my 8" wood lunker punker in bluegill color for a 6" wood lunker punker in rainbow trout color. Also looking to pick up a Rago Poppa Walka in rainbow trout color and a ROF 12 hudd in a rainbow trout color. I may have other baits for trade let me know what you have and what you might be looking for. I can text pics. Thanks
  17. Yes got tracking number and the postal service says they have been delivered. They went to nadinesmom.
