2 days and counting! Can't wait. Found somebody with a back seat open on the Delta. I'm pumped to get out there and see a California bass.

I don't know that area well, not even the delta LOL!, You will be a little over 2 hours North/west of where I live. u moved? Were you asking me or Don? I assume Don, but I was jabbering about moving so... I'm not moving to Cal, just visiting.

Thanks for the info Ceasar. Sent you a pm also.

I just got to give props to Huddleston. Ordered a couple 68's on the last release. Box shows up with my baits, and I was shocked to see they also sent me a weedless shad and a weedless 6" trout ROF12 to try at no charge. Very unexpected and much appreciated!

Now that's livin'!

Yeah, the Delta looks huge! I hear about it being a phenomenal bass fishery, but all I've found online is info about sturgeon, striped bass and salmon fishing. Nothing wrong with those, but what's a Kansas boy to know about salmon or sturgeon!

Been a crazy year for me what with buying and selling a house, moving, all that jazz. Fishing has kind of taken the back burner. Finally getting a break and wife and I are flying to California at the end of the month to see our new nephew. Also hoping to get a little fishing in. SIL/BIL live in Suisun City, but I know nothing about the area except it's close to the Delta. Hoping to find some smaller waters nearby I could get to and get a bait wet. Anybody local know the area, give any suggestions?

Thanks guys. Not real big but it's a start.

Nice fish Speed, and congrats on the little one!

Went fishing Saturday evening on a public pond behind my buddy's house. First time there, but I think it gets a lot of pressure being in town. Entire shoreline is ringed with water willows. It was difficult to get them to come out of the willows for a bait. There was one nice laydown. I cast out past it with the 7" MS Slammer in bass, did a slow twitch/deadstick over it, nothing. Cast out again and waked it over, and this chunk demolished it. Not huge, but not bad for this little pond. I'm thinking a night mission is upcoming, and try to catch them out of the willows feeding. Stay tuned.

You guys are right on. It's all about confidence, and catching that one fish will keep me chunking it. Fish are kind of in the post-spawn funk, but I'm hoping they'll turn on this weekend. The HPH is tied on fresh line and ready!

Thanks guys, and thanks again for the baits, Randall. I knew as soon as I got one wet that it was gonna be the real deal. Can't wait to stick a pig.

Went out this weekend prefishing for a tournament. The bite was tough. Threw the 7" Slammer in the morning, but only one half-hearted swipe at it. Later, found a little pocket full of shad, so I tied on the High Power Herring. My partner was in awe. He says, "It's like watching boobs. I just can't stop staring at the way it moves." I had to agree. So I had no hits in that pocket, so I put it down so my partner could get back to fishing. We went to another pocket full of shad, and I hooked a nice one on a jig, but lost it. Picked up the HPH and threw it down the bank, twitched it a couple times and paused it like a jerkbait. Line pulls tight and she's on! Only about a 2.5 pounder though, and I didn't get a pic. But I have a feeling this won't be the last fish on it, and hopefully not the biggest one.
