The trick is keeping the total dimensions under 108”. For a round tube, the way they calculate it is the tube width times pi (3.14), plus the tube length. I shipped a 8’ rod in a tube I received from a rod builder that was 4” wide and 98” long (110.56” total). I was quoted $270+ to ship it in that tube. I did some research and figured out how they calculate it. I got 3” pvc tubing and it cut it to 98” (107.42” total) and it dropped the cost to $37. The key is keeping the “total dimensions” under 108”

Tried my slow sink models in 37deg water with a few nails and without them... This bait swims cool at a medium retrieve and I was casting from shore of my reservoir across the flat at the boat ramp- very clear water. Bait swam straight with a bit of hunt in both directions - it's a pretty unique action and I like it. I'll buy more on here when the dudes who won't tune a bait decide to sell em cheap. Everything we use is a tool. I'm glad to have a new one. Swims faster than a magdraft - magdraft swims faster than a RS. All great baits that have their place. Enjoy

From what I understand the jerkbait action is where it's at with these baits. So I am going with a medium action style rod. 

If you’re a dobyns fan the 836 Bullshad Rod throws it very well. I don’t particularly love that it’s 8’3” and it’s not a super light rod, but it does a great job with that bait.

Man there are just so many amazing baits. I would love to have one of these Also. I've got a couple high end baits that sell for 300 plus and I don't see why. Got a $75 wood Wake from a guy in Houston that out performs em lol if I wasn't about to have to sell a bunch of baits myself because I need money I'd be all over some of the baits you have.

It just cant be a rad wood bait that works from Japan. Has to be A Pizz or Hinkle. I probably would still sell it. Might sell all my swimbait stuff. Been so many years im burnt out. Just picked up a used here in LA and let me say this: this rod is light and can lob the baitsanity and deps 250 with ease.  Super strong and light but not a broom stick. Has some tip but when you do hook into the 30lb striper (it’s what I use it for) you won’t worry about being under gunned. If you’ve been thinking about this rod, but it! You’ll love the balance and power it provides! It definitely for the big big baits! You’ll be glad you bought it
