Not giving negative feedback because you feel bad?

Hey gang,

so back in February I made a deal with someone for two battleshads. After I paid for both he contacted me he wanted to buy one back and he said in return for that he’d also send me a custom bait he made. I’m like that sounds awesome and I’d love to have a true garage made swimbait (gives it character). I agree he pays me less than I bought it for even though that wasn’t agreed on but I thought I’d let it slide because hey I’m getting a hand made bait in return as well… right? Anyway after a bit of time he sends me my Battleshad and pays for the one he bought back and says he’ll get back to me when the baits are done. He says two or so weeks. I don’t know if he’s the most unlucky guy is the world because every time I ask for an update, it’s killer mosquitos, vacation that lasts a month(if this is true I’m jealous), a car crash, house chores and or dinner. EVERYTIME. Says he has some baits and just needs to get to the post office sometime. Every time he says something came up I brush it off and say hope things turn around keep me updated and then after awhile goes by without any communication I ask for an update and something else comes up. Anyway to this day I haven’t gotten my bait. 

looking at the guys profile he seems to be a stand up guy to everyone else he has dealt with, posting nice comments on photos, being a reliable buyer and or seller, and overall a pillar of the community since 2014. My experience hasn’t been great with him clearly but I’m new to this community(I joined fall of last year I think) I barely have feedback myself and feel like it isn’t my place to give others who have, at least at a glance, given so much to this community a negative feedback that he can’t even dispute I think, for something that only affects me. What if the world truly is hitting the fan for this guy that he can’t make it to the post office? I’m torn on what to do and would love some advice. I asked for an update three weeks ago and he hasn’t responded.. though it seems he’s been active once here since then.

what I would do is just wait and if possible contact SU I know that will prob do nothing to get your situation figured out but that will stop him from doing it to anyone else.

Whole situation seems a bit weird to me… sells a bait then asks to buy one back and doesn’t pay full price. Plus I would have made sure the baits were ready or given pics of it ready before I accepted an offer. However if he seems like a stand up guy and is reputable on here, makes it harder to make a decision on the fly. It shouldn’t be weeks at a time before response that’s basic “ducking someone” behavior imo. I’ve been having ish luck myself had to cancel and order or two but ALWAYS stay in communication. NOBODY IS THAT BUSY.

1-who is it? If he has been around I'm sure someone can/would be able to vouch for him.

2-if you get scammed got to leave negative feedback because it helps everyone after your dealings make a decision on whether to deal or not to deal with him based on prior experiences.

This.  If someone doesn't keep their word to you, then there should be some sort of retribution.  I don't care if they have a great rep or a thousand positive transactions.  If they did you wrong and are ducking, F them. Gotta look out for yourself first, period.

I heard recently that there’s guys on here that offer great customer service….

Thanks everyone for their responses, whole post was a nice way to vent too! I’m gonna give him one more week to respond with a tracking code then leave feedback. I appreciate everyone’s input! Just an FYI to anyone seeing this post this is the first time something like this has happened to me out of many other transactions, most people here are standup members and make this an overall great community to be apart of!
