  1. So I now can drive through and control Triton Chine Walk.
  2. Going to clear water and the south end of Grand Lake this weekend. I haven’t fished a swimbait other than a Mikey all year long. Guess I’ll give it a try a see what happens. I’ll be fishing docks and docks and even more docks. Any tips on swimbaits and docks?
  3. I'm heading to Grand Lake O' The Cherokees for the weekend. I'll be down in some clear water, might actually throw a swimbait which I haven't done all year. Order myself a Ram Mount for my HDS unit. Trying to get my boat set up the way I like it.
  4. Finally have been taking my Triton out. I experienced the Triton chine was Saturday. Started at about 5000-5500 RPM's. So Sunday went back out made a few minor adjustments. First I eased the trim up, bumping it up a little at a time. No more chine walk.
  5. As a resident of OKC Sounds like a great idea!
  6. I still haven't taken her out yet. I haven't had anytime.
  7. Lew's has a huge line capacity for low profile reels
  8. I've been using a regular Lew's Speed Spool throwing swimbaits, a-rigs and have no problem. The Super Duty will work great.
  9. Yes sir we love the dirty water here in Oklahoma
  10. I just got one the other day tested it out after we got a warm rain. I got a dink on it in about 5 minutes of fishing. The action is good dives about a foot on a fast retrieve. Sits up on top and does a really good wake on a slow retrieve. Just wondering if anyone else has tried one yet?
  11. Thanks man for the advice. Top end it should run 65-68 mph. Right now I'm more concerned about learning to drive it safely and not destroying it or myself. The motors an '07 I believe it is still under waranty. Only problem is mechanics who fix ETEC's are few and far between here. The hull and everything is good it has been garage kept since day one. The hours on the motor should be low too. My dad never went fishing just to go fishing it was always tournament fishing. So the boat would go out about 6-10 times a year, so the hours should be good.
  12. I've had luck in our stained waters here in Oklahoma I've had luck with Jackall Mikeys. This was in late July to late October.
  13. I just started following all of the above
  14. Funny story about that my Dad has just gotten a HDS 5 my Dad was coming accross the lake. He was looking at the HDS my dad thought he was in 35 ft of water instead he was going 35 miles per hour and ran up and got stuck on a sand bar.
  15. I've been looking on there, as well just thought I'd ask you guys as well.
  16. Anyone has any boating tips for a new boater. I inherited my Dad’s 99 Triton TR-19 with a 150 Evinrude Etec H/O. I’ve driven it once this summer. I’m just a bit nervous to drive it. It’s set up with a hot foot, when I drove it for the first time I had it trimmed out to about 3 thought I had it wide open. The hot foot was all the way to the floor. The speedometer doesn’t work, just the tach. I lnow to trim down to get on plane and trim down when running in rough water to take the wake better.
  17. After talking to several people who use Shimano and have for years, I will never buy a new Shimano product. I have 20 Curados between 6-8 years old, with that being said the quality between now and then has gone down hill. I own those reels and 2 Lew's reels, my next reel will be a Lew's Super Duty.
  18. I feel for, it was very painful to watch my Dad (being someone who did everything for everyone) not being able to do the things he wanted to do. About a month before he died, he told me I just want to get out on the boat for a hour and fish. He was so weak from the chemo he couldn't even do that.
  19. Cross my fingers I have no need right now to get my motor repaired, but here in Oklahoma there is no one that fixes ETECs
