  1. Soft baits Joe at Realprey will take care of you. The smallies smoke his new little prowler perch.
  2. This year has been horrible, haven't got one over 5lbs in 13 months, MA DCR closed the shallow weedy pond at the reservoir I fish, so I have been grinding out on the main body, In 2020 I got 21 fish over 5lbs and my largie PB out of the place and 3 fish pushing 7lbs out of ice water at local pond in March. Now weather it's a bite cycle or a timing thing I don't know, I just hope it gets better.
  3. Bomb casting this old one and cranking it down slays em.
  4. Flip it inside out put it back on the boat and treat it with some mildew spray and let it dry and see if that helps, I tried it a few years ago and it worked ok.
  5. Imakatsu Berlinetta stuck me a six pounder first cast on a bluebird post frontal day so thats my favorite. Disregard the scale bag that was stuck to the hook lol.
  6. I throw left handed and reel righty naturally, I guess I'm lucky. No problems like my friends had before they started making left handed crank reels.
  7. Did you get to venture thru the woods along the old beat up dirt roads to get to 31 when they shut the regular road for paving a few years ago? That was insane lol. I used to fish out of 31 all the time, there are some good spots around the ramp up there for largies.
  8. I had one, It exploded during the back cast while tossing a Real Prey 10 inch trout. I just cut the label section of the rod and mailed it them and they sent a new one. That pistol grip rear handle reminded me of the old 5'6" pistol grip bait casting rods from back in the day.
  9. Had an OG and sold it for 300 bucks I think.
  10. I use a motorguide XI5 to move my pond prowler around, That runs off a 65AH lithium battery, I only use it on small under 100 acre ponds and have never had an issue with run time and if it does become an issue I could always paddle the boat back.
  11. 43 road is far more doable than the 2 miles of dust and tire flattening rock on the gate 8 road. 43 road will be getting redone this year, just the end and the beginning though middle is still good.
  12. Curtek makes a cool little gill wake.
  13. All it does is makes a smelly nasty mess in my opinion.
  14. Casting big swimbaits, distance is never an issue. I can bomb cast them as far as I want. In my opinion after servicing the three reels I mentioned the Beast 40 is, well a beast compared to the delicate 200 series Daiwas.
  15. You should see my hinkle shad. It will get bigger,
  16. Beast 40 , it's far more rugged than the tatula hd 200 and Diawa coastal 200 I have.
  17. WM60 all brakes out and spool tension just tight enough so the spool doesn't shimmy side to side. Line is 25 lb floro currently sniper, still get an occasional backlash. Not sure if a reel exists that will stop all backlash without robbing casting distance, it's a heavy bait to be bomb casting to cover a lot of water.
  18. 21 mph is all I can get, you know what he is running for a prop?
  19. I'm the guy on the bottom fishing out of the boat on top though
  20. I use these, cheap to replace when it falls overboard never to be seen again. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJZCP1GS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
  21. Mine sucks at crankin, for crankin rats I use cl8 baby possums in the cranking version. They get crushed, it fooled the fish in my profile pic.
  22. I use these and the round version for my Luna's. https://www.amazon.com/KUFA-Profile-Casting-Cover-BC15/dp/B007XKX5AC/ref=asc_df_B007XKX5AC/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312142476371&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11166306195869984249&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001644&hvtargid=pla-568313006142&psc=1
  23. I use 16lb sunline sniper for baits similar to those. I would imagine 17lb would be similar.
