  1. That's a good review. I put longer handles on both my C3s and they handle the big baits so much better. I've used the stock Abu winch handles and power handles, both you can get on eBay for around $20-$30. Def worth it.
  2. I lived on the sac river in the pocket area for a few years and did good with multi jointed baits like triple trout and dirty shads. Only caught stripers out of there on Swimbaits, never a large mouth.
  3. I haven't found anything that gets a group of bass together like a big glide bait. Deps, mother.... If you have a 10" or bigger glide try that. If bass are swimming in packs that will find them.
  4. The only way you can really EFF it up is tearing the skin. I think the OGs swim best with a little weight taken out so I think most of my conversions actually swim better than stock slide swimmers. Just make sure the skins not ripped and ask if he glued the skin on, if so you won't be able to adjust weight and rate of fall.

Great guy, good communication, shipped fast and bait was as described.
  6. Shuddertails can be converted to slide swimmers, that's a steal at that price.
  7. I remember seeing a pic where the dude had a link maybe 2'x4' and he attached weight to each corner to get it down. Attached rope to two corners so it would drag evenly. Seems like an easy concept, good luck.
  8. My buddy lost his deps last week, trying to help him find a new one. Only interested in trout colors and OGs. Let me know what you got.

Not that i know but Correia is the "Smith" of Portuguese, lots of us out there.
  11. Ill take one of those carp shuddertails
  12. Drawing fish out teaches you a lot about their behavior. Where the fish are, where they came from, how they are following the bait.... I totally agree, I have learned a lot more throwing bigger baits and I actually catch more fish on baits 8" and up than I do on the 5-7 " Swimbaits.
  13. I just sat here and watched the whole thing, bad ass guys!

    Deps

Went out this weekend and got one on the 250. Fish hit the bait almost immediately after hitting the water. Casted along a ledge and about one turn of the reel and the fish smashed it. Fish was 7.6lb. great fight with so much line out.
  15. I have a deps that will wake with my rod tip up and suspend about a foot deep with it down, butch tuned it that way. I fish it early in the mornings especially if I see fish surfacing. Along buoy lines, over points, next to docks, spots where you've seen fish holding. If it's pulling fish up and im seeing followers right on it I'll keep throwing it. If it's getting no looks or the followers are down deep I'll throw another deps that's weighted to sink a bit more. When the deps first came out and fish weren't familiar with it that bait caught me a piss ton of fish. It would bring up packs of fish, ripping it along the surface, I'd see boils around the bait from fish missing it. I'd pause it where I thought the fish were then rip it out and that would get some to commit. Summer time that bite has died for me. I'm casting my glides and counting down, 10-20 seconds now, especially when the sun's overhead with no clouds. Good luck man.
  16. Damn, 27" is a big girl. Nice
  17. Damn you guys are harsh lol. That lakes super tough this time of year if you are only tossing big baits. When it's been really hot for a while I'd try throwing a topwater bait a long the weed lines that you find off shore. Don't waste your time fishing the tules or in the east cove. Try a punker or slammer in the mornings if you have one, if not maybe someone can hook you one for free. Good luck.
  18. I'd love to eat that fish, she's beautiful.
  19. That paint job on the mother is awesome.
  20. I've heard of guys respooling every week. IMO it's a waste of time and money. I use cheap Big Game and respool usually twice a year and have never had a problem throwing big baits. I get out about 50 times a year.
  21. I recently dropped my water wolf in the lake (with footage of a 9 and 11lber 😞) and would like another. If anyone has one they aren't using let me know.
  22. 807 feels noticeably stiffer with less of a tip. I really like it for hudds and baitsmiths. What are you planning on using it for?
  23. My buddy and I doubled up on these a few weeks ago. I could tell pretty much right away I had a cat but it was a fun fight anyway.
