He can charge that much because he has trained his audience to believe they need it by creating a short supply and false demand. Kind of like naming your company 316 lures to sell more baits, even though you're the biggest bully in the fishing industry. You guys can justify this by telling yourself whatever you need to. It's marketing 101 guys, buyer beware. About as crafty as saying you make 300 baits at a time, have the strongest resin on the market (after having sold more failed product than anyone in the last few years), then follow up with "life is better with god" LOL

It's not that simple. Mickey's baits are what they are because Mickey makes them himself. He can't hire employees to make the same baits he is making now. He has years of experience and hard work he has put in to it. It's not as simple as just training someone to do the job. An employee will never work as hard or care as much about what they do as the owner. If they do they will usually take what they learned at some point and start their own competing company. And partners don't work in the swimbait business either. Tons of companies and people have worked together and it seems it almost never works long term. This isn't making widgets. Too much goes into it compared to other things. I don't think you know what you're talking about. Mickey has had various employees working for him over the years. He wants you to believe he makes them all by himself so you stand up for him like you are now. Quit nut huggin'.

It's totally wrong for BTD to sell the baits, but how about the guy making them?? Pizz is a piece of work!

Nice parts breakdown. How long have you had this reel and been using it? Was looking at them but have owned the Isis and other Okuma reels in the past and they just don't hold up for big baits.

Not sure I can wait that long Any other options? I have a couple 250's and like Speedbead said they hold up great, but I'm missing a ton of fish or they're coming off.

I've been thinking of buying the Mother but have heard a few stories about them falling apart. How have yours held up over time?

I'm thinking about getting a 400D for big baits 8-12oz baits. 1)If you fish 30lb wouldn't it pick up faster since the spool gets thicker with more line? 2) Disengaging level winds cast further what kind of sounds does your reel make?
