  1. I know someone who claimed he was a prostaffer for killer instinct. A couple months ago he got probably five or six baits, and has actually done well with them. He says the comments about the owner doesn't bother him. Just me putting in what I have heard.
  2. Same here, gonna be there all next week!!
  3. First of all sorry for not being very active here. I hope to change that in the future as I am slowly figuring out swimbaits. Moving forward, has anyone here fished Lake Powell? I am going there for a week. I would like to throw my swimbaits but I know the stripers are keyed in on small shad. The green bass fishing is supposed to be getting better with rising water but I've never got a striper so I'de like to do that! I would way rather stick a few quality fish on big baits instead of sitting on a point with anchovies catching 1.3 million rats. Any input is awesome! If I get anything out there I'll be sure to post it up!!
  4. You forgot to mention the weather is 100+ out there, so stamina truly is part of it all.
  5. Was this on bass brigade's Instagram?
  6. The irod swimbait rods are really good for calicos because they have a tip stiff enough to work the heavy kelp. I would stick to the soft baits for now because the calicos will tear apart your triple trouts, bbzs, etc.
  7. Honestly one of if not the best looking homemade bait on this forum
  8. If you take something like a spro or tt, you can rip it real hard and it'll practically move an inch, and bed fish will inhale it. Rip it really hard and it'll cause a lot of commotion, and it'll stay above the bed pretty well
  9. Soon enough they'll choke lures twice their size....
  10. try some spotted bay bass, a 3 pounder can out pull any lmb any day
  11. I bet she's a trout eater!!!!
  12. The 10.4 is a super healthy looking fish!
  13. Slide Swimmer or home? Your decision.
  14. I was shore pounding newport harbor and we were standing on a sea wall and my friend decides to snag a stingray. As it is hard to unhook a stingray since they sting, this random man tries to help my friend. Eventually they get it unhooked, and have to shove it over the edge to release it. So on the count of three they push it. The ray went over, and also my friends brand new curado, landing in the sharp rocks with the dreaded saltwater. So the man has to hold my friends hand to get him down there to get his setup. It all worked out, but my buddy was POed.
  15. I got mine right after Christmas, but I've only fished it three times. I have the jr one and when it showed up I couldn't believe how light it was. It was barely if any heavier than a standard mh rod. It doesn't have a huge diameter either. I was also surprised how stiff it was, but has some serious backbone. If you live in socal, this could easily double as a calico stick, it's perfect for working kelp and boiler rocks.
  16. If it breaks, send it to mike shaw. He won't tell the difference
  17. Thanks everyone for the input, and just for the heck of it, I'll throw in a spottie I caught Monday!
  18. I can actually wake up pretty well to go fish, gets me all excited and stuf haha. As for safety, the rich people in Newport can give you a run for your money when you're in the middle of the channel, those boats are just so big I feel like they can't see me. I typically stay close to the docks to make sure I stay outta the way, especially since it's hard to get the tubes going.
  19. I live in HB, pound NPH all the time, even got some pretty good secrets to get there bit more often.
  20. How did you do in the kelp? One time my buddy and I dared to go outside the jetty in Dana Point, and freaked cuz we thought we saw a big set outside. Btw I have a tube, just wondering other peoples perspective on it.
  21. I'm in the same position you were in, I'm trying to make things click with those az stripers (I go to bullhead a lot)
  22. First of all, I'm pretty new around here, and want to get into the mix. I searched around a little bit, and didn't see too much about this, so here it goes: I was wondering if anyone here float tubes. I and some of my friends have float tubes, but we barely take them out of the saltwater. They do everything we need in the harbors, but I was wondering if many people take them out for freshwater bass. I have tried a few times, but I feel like I'm walking on the fish. I have one swimbait setup (I'm 15), but the ability to take two rods on my tube. Also I don't have a fish finder or anything like that. Any recommendations on techniques or anything to change from standard shore or fishing out of a boat is greatly appreciated. Also, definitely post any pics from float tubing, or just anything related to the topic. Btw I have 4 swimbaits; single joint slammer, the plastic punker, s-waver, and a 6 in spro.
