Same here. I was just out at Berryessa yesterday and the cold weather paired with developing arthritis on my elbow made it difficult to fish swimbait. Made a handful of cast and the pain just wasn't worth it. Went finessing instead.

That is some great stuff right there. And the haters will hate, but really glad you got it. -
Everything seem to be due at the same time so I didn't have a materialistic Christmas, but it was merry. However,I did get two blocks of wood and spent a few hours yesterday cutting 12 topwater lures that I will be carving and painting.

And fish both side of points.

I've fish there the last three winters and to be honest, since it is not a swimbait tournament, I wouldn't throw it. Swimbait fishing is fun, but this is a matter going home with a check or empty handed. Unless you have your bag, and a nice one at that, then go for the kicker. And which end of the lake do you plan on fishing? The south end towards the dam seem to have more spotted and the north end has more large. And this might be taboo on this site, but dropshotting ledges will put fish in the boat quick. 6" Roboworm Hot Tip in salt and pepper.

I don't but what kind of problems are you having?

The 867 is a great rod and don't let the guides deter you. I have a few Dobyns rod and have had 2 inserts pop out over 5 yrs. just call them and there will be another guide in your mail box in a few days and have someone wrap it. It will probably be done before your next trip.

Those big stripers put up a good fight and does some real damage, thats why i stick with the cheaper lures. But a OG tho, that hurts just hearing about it.

Went out striper fishing and had another S-Waver 200 fail on me. The rear section split and the hook hanger broke off. Needless to say, I lost the fish. I had the same issue with another 200. The first time I had the issue, I contacted R2S and they replaced it with a new "batch" that was suppose to be more durable. FYI, the only reason why I was using the 200 over mine own lure was the faster sink rate. Anyone out there having this issue?

Looks great. Thanks for the tip.

That is a beast. I need to get a hand on those lures. From the videos I've seen, those would be killer right now on the Delta.

Nice photo Slideaction.

^^Agree. One of my friends bought one and it doesn't swim nor glides well. It rolls on a medium retrieve and pulls straight in when retrieved slow. I thought the feathers might be causing the lack in action and advised him to cut it, it didn't help either. Save the money and get a S-Waver.

When you catch it on your own lure. The lure is slow sink 9" shad that is a little over 4oz. It is starting to cool down and the weeds are starting to die out so it is swimbait and glide bait time for stripers.
