I fish drag locked down 95% of the time . No problem . Reason for locked down drag is I winch fish in. to many variables can go wrong when playing out a big bass to tire it out with expensive baits and possibly the fish of a lifetime / state record / world record / lake record ect what ever your goal is .

Glad to hear that you got your eye deal worked out ! curious did he pm on Facebook after you posted on his time line lol? That's the only way I've ever gotten an update or acknowledgment

The Curado is what I'd throw with glides . The Cardiff 400 ( when I had one ) always made me feel like I was playing catch up to a glide bait ( deps 250 ) but once I switching to a 6:5:1 it Felt perfect for that application. As for the rods ... I sold my irod .... Multiple inserts of the guides fell out after two trips ... ( I baby my rods and reels ) but that's my experience with them . I think tho your fishing the baits on the right Rod . But it really comes down to personal preference and what equipment you have available . Me I stick to a 6:4:1 or 6:5:1 for my all purpose swimbaits ( revo toro nacl 60 ang dobyns 867)

Dobyns 867 . Awsome Rod . Will throw basically anything your gonna want to throw . Until you really wanna drop 400 + dollars per bait . ( which to me is worth it.) but the dobyns had great customer servos and are amazing rods. Generally when someone gets into swimbait fish in the progress to larger baits ( just keep that in mind) if a Rod seems over kill for a couple of the baits you wanna throw think about down the line baits too !

I love my st41's and have always thrown them and have never had them stick, cut , or go threw skin . I also sharpen hooks every trip or every other trip. But it's all personal opinion I guess . Thanks for the input on other hooks and reasons for not liking st 41's -
Love it ! Can't wait to get out there with you guys soon! Keep slayin. Awsome Grady . Same to you jon

Yeah I understand that . I'm in the same boat you are in . But don't understand why people think that hook rash affects or ruins a bait . No disrespect to those who think that. -
