New to the underground, semi-new to swimbaits. I fish from the bank a lot here in North Cackalacky, and I'm looking to step up from throwing cheaper baits. Most of what I fish now are baits that it doesn't necessarily hurt to lose. The baits I currently own that would hurt to lose... are all floating. I guess I really have two questions: 1. How to avoid snags/getting snagged baits back, especially fishing from the bank, cause I really wanna step up my baits, but I don't wanna lose a K9 or Deps to a log; and 2. What are your favorite $50-$100 baits? I don't wanna hear what's good for beginners etc etc. I wanna hear what your favorite bait in that price range is, and why you like it. I wanna add some more glides, and some soft baits into the mix. I also wanna hear about some good baits in the 6-8oz range; I've got a dobyns 806 that I wanna test the limits on. My current lineup is: Megabass i-Slide 187R; TK; R2S Tactical Wake; Magdrafts; Savage Gear Glide; and the BPS Swerve Glide. I'm definitely gonna snatch up a chad shad soon. Swimbaits and college are a match made for financial ruin... lol. Thanks in advance, y'all!

Trying to start up a side hustle re painting people’s baits. If you are interested in having a bait done let me know. Looking for a few baits to start out and will cut a deal on shipping costs and the such. I clear coat as well. Thanks ! Jeff

Hey S.U. Like many of us who are looking for an edge or something to make our bait standout from the hundreds of swimbaits the bass (at least here is so cal, and neighboring states ) see on a daily basis. Modification is something I see a lot on the water, but not really on the Fourms. And I can see why. I'm currently working on a weedless swimbait that I can fish in the notorious snag zones where big bass rarely get bombarded with the usual 8"hudds . And probably only see the 6"weedless Huddleston's if any. IM working on getting a solid 10" weedless trout. But from a cost stand point I'm starting with the 8" savage pulse tail. And feel like I'm on to something good. I just need a little advice on what type of glue would work best for soft rubber to a hard foam. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 20200229_160059.mp4

After spending too much time with details, molds, foiling, paint on a glide bait that I didn't know if I could get it to swim right, I decided to make this one a bit more simple. I learned a lot from the first one so I won't count it as a loss. Here it is, I wanted to resemble the shape of pike minnow, but I think it can be painted to look like anything. I used Pine wood for the first time and ended up having issues drilling the holes straight from the top to bottom because of wood grain. I even ended up making a jig to hold it correct but the drill bit would start bending around the grain. Not sure how to avoid this in the future. It looks a little front heavy in this picture but I realized after the hook was super glued to the hook keeper. I didn't take a picture after but it was pretty well balance and slow sinking. Short swim vid of it. Not really happy with the swim, I am going to try and widen the swim a little, I used a 30 degree angle cut for the hinge.

I recently casted off a deps 250 and a hinkle trout due to my knots failing I tie a Palomar which I know isn’t the best for floro but up until now it has never failed me I am really interested to see what others tie for big swimbaits Btw I use Seaguar Tatsu so the line wasn’t the issue

Hey guys, After being in the swimbait world for a few years now I have had the opportunity to throw my fair share of Huddlestons and catch plenty of trophy fish. Now that I've had the opportunity to explore more baits I've found that the Baitsmith has basically the same design as the Hudd. However, the Baitsmith costs a lot more than the Hudd so I'm wondering if they have any specific differences that make one better than the other, and if so what do you guys prefer to throw? Tight lines everyone! Ryan
