  1. Has anyone boiled their RS? Got several more packages from Lake Fork Tackle, not 316 direct... the packaging was different and two of the tails are pretty bent. Not trying to start a bash fest as ish happens, just want to know if anyone has straightened them before I start experimenting. Thanks
  2. Where are you in Texas?? Lets get out.
  3. Where can I buy Ignite? I'm all for trying new stuff, especially soft plastics. True that Anthony, Its crazy around Fork right now, the weedless swimbait craze is nuts. I've watched tackle shops fill up with several companies weedless style swimbaits. I don't get anything from Mickey, I pay just like everyone else. I've tried the Smashtech, 316 and the Rio weedless swimbaits all on the same 10/0 hook. The Smashtech convict has a great swim, however that swim is partly due to how soft it is. The bait just got destroyed after one fish sometimes. I know Clinton can attest to this also, we both have had one fish convicts. The Rio has the best color selection imo, I love their purple back shad. While I haven't had any serious issues with the Rio, the 316 is more durable from my experience. From what I've fished, the 316 is the overall best weedless. Ya some swimbaits might outshine in one area but the 316 RS gets beat to hell and the nose still holds that pin. Without a doubt try them all. Seems like 316 has found the right combination between a durable swimbait that still maintains a very fluid swim. That is most important thing to me.
  4. Lord, so it weighs as much as a fly. Going to just order the lip weight deps makes. Thanks Cody.
  5. My piece of ish scale just bonked, anyone know how much the 160 bullshooter lip weight weighs? Thanks
  6. So I have a box of swimbaits that I will allow my friends to throw, these swimbaits are ones that I do not care if they are lost. The Savagegear bluegills now reside in that box. I do not have a mattlures but have heard many great things, my bluegill lineup is a bullshooter w/o weight and the hiroshima gillrilla. Find what you like, throw it.
  7. Patagonia Torrentshell rain jacket. It folds inside its own pocket and zips up. Very light and awesome.
  8. Erik, what would you trade? I have two shad. Rather not get rid of either but because you live near me in the best in America I'll trade something....if that works for you.
  9. Glad it got figured out Clinton. I thought you were going to cry when you called me, I'll loan you a deps buzzjet till it gets fixed.
  10. If all you only plan to use gopro on boat, then get the battery eliminator and be set. If you want to use it elsewhere, I'd invest in batteries.
  11. I don't buy the gopro batteries, they suck. I have used a few different companies and for the cost, Smatree are the best I've found. I have ten batteries now and never have to worry about it. http://www.amazon.com/Smatree%C2%AE-1290mAh-Replacement-battery-Batteries/dp/B00OSYIZGU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1458693474&sr=8-2&keywords=smatree+battery+gopro+hero+4 Also, the new Samsung 128 sd is functional with the camera. The past ones had a problem compiling the video at 4k. I used the card I'll link last weekend and I shot 9 hours of video on it, still wasn't full. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-128GB-Adapter-MB-MP128DA-AM/dp/B00P3NMVVU/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1458693596&sr=1-2&keywords=samsung+128gb+micro+sd+card *** Didn't even see he mentioned Smatree above. Smart man Chris is.
  12. I love my MK iPilot, pretty quiet and its never let me down.
  13. For me, I just want all my lures consolidated so I hang them in the same box. I don't think I need to hang them but I do anyways. Just preference to keep it simple.
  14. Ha, my apologies. I thought it was clear with the million g's in boringgggggg that I was joking. I have swimshotted, I did it with a 316 lil booger pegged. 1 1/2 foot leader and 3/4oz egg weight that you use for a carolina rig. It is very good when the fish are on a finesse bite and you can't get them to commit to moving baits. I used a flipping stick, 7"7 heavy and it worked great.
  15. Called a swimshot rig. Boringgggggggggg
  16. Cruise over them with DI or Sonar and see what depth that are sitting at. Then countdown whatever glide you want to throw at them. What glides do you have? I really haven't been throwing glides and I'm in Texas also. Been tossing weedless stuff pretty shallow lately. Slammer has done well also. Of course hudds are always a good choice.
  17. Giant! I'm jealous man! Props to you

    The son.

Got out the Fork yesterday and had a solid idea of where I wanted to fish. I was as far back in one of the creeks as you could go. I trimmed up my motor and blew through the pads/hydrilla to get all up in thur. I threw most of the basics that I could throw in the situation. Slammer, baby wake, rising son, triple trout, hiroshima. I got two bites on the rising son, two solid fish. I was throwing/flipping the rising son as far back into the vegetation as I could get it, trying to get it stuck way back in there and then working my voodoo to get it out. Great day on the water considering Noah's Ark paid a visit today and poured on me. And yes, I know my quads are eating my shorts. Squats bruh. I promise they aren't as short as they appear.
  19. Zero issues here with landing fish on the RS, I really am patient setting the hook to ensure they really have it. . I have so far destroyed 3 rising sons from fish. Today at Fork I was throwing my RS as far I could into flooded shoreline and fishing it like a ribbit frog, directly under surface and it got smashed. I'll post the huge ass donkey and the 6.1lb I caught when I get the video off my gopro. Hell of a day.
  20. Ok, the two bluegills I ordered just came today. These things look great, will be fishing them tomorrow either at fork or purtis creek. Let ya know how I do.
  21. Ordered two, looking forward to them.
  22. I try and not focus on the depth as my main factor in fishing. I will keep depth in mind in relation to season and baitfish but the number one factor is structure. I focus on grass lines, ledges, funnels from deeper to shallower water, gulleys, rock piles/boulders and timber. With that being said, I've caught some huge fish in flats with little to no structure. This video is about the "percentage triangle". Pretty good information by Brandon Palaniuk.
