    I had to get on the water tonight and see how the ladies responded to the eclipse. I had on my trusty 9 inch MS Slammer. She rolled on it in about 4 feet of water, and dove for the bottom, a silent hit. I thought it might have been a large pickerel, until she started to swing my yak and my MH rod bent. She went 5.7. Almost lost her trying to get her in the kayak. You can see she actually came unhooked as i netted her. She was the only fish I got in 3 hrs. Sweet.

    Funny, I too found out a couple of years ago that my local honey hole had fish over 2 lbs! A small high pressure lake only sees shiners, worms and jigs. Then we tried Slammers and rats, and we started catching 5-6 pounders. No one believes me that they are in there, and thats just fine with me! Nice catch, even better recovery!

    Hey everyone. I'm looking to put a feathered treble hook on the back of my new Roman Made South. I cant seem to find any feathered hooks bigger than 2. (Bass Pro & TW). Do you guys have any stores or sites that may have a better selection of feathered trebles? Also, any thoughts on feathers? I've never used them. Thanks, Adam

    Awesome! Yak fishing is the best. If you dont have a good net, be sure to get one. Getting a large bass on your lap in a yak is another battle in it self (as you know). I recommend an MS Slammer and a Spro BBZ Rat.

    If you have expensive gear, I suggest itemizing them on your homeowners/car/renters insurance. Not sure exactly how it would work, but my firearms are itemized on my renters insurance. Reach out to your insurance company guys. If its worth stealing, it's worth insuring. Good luck brother. Hope Karma catches up to the pricks!
