phenix are great rods, i have the ultra swimbait classic and its awesome! sensitve, looks great, but a little heavy. i also have a gloomis imx and that rod is dope! its small, very light, and sensitive. when i first saw it i wasn't sure if that was the right rod cause it didn't look like it can handle big bass. the rod works just fine, i throw 10 oz baits with no problem. i would also up the test line if you're going to throw swimbaits, losing them are a heart breaker! just my opinion. good luck!

My set up is a g.loomis imx xh swimbait rod with a calcutta b with 50 lb braided and 30 lb flouro. just got a phenix ultra swimbait classic xh rod but need a reel to go with it. get a savage gear 3d line through trout, probably one of the cheaper swimbaits out there, only $20 and it catches fish. theres 3 rof, floating, slow sink, moderate sink, there are 3 sizes; 6" 8" and 12". BBZ-1 is also a good bait as well, 6 & 8". hope this helps, good luck!

I use 50 lb braid and 30 lb fluoro, tie them together with an Albright knot or whatever knot u want. Fluoro will sink and is invisible, mono floats but is visible. Go heavy cause u don't want to lose those swimsuits! Good luck!
