  1. Here's some size comparison bottom bait a 250, 13inch deadtwich, 14inch super slammer(feels like it weighs about 10 ozs), 4d 40cm linethrue trout, and than the manifold
  2. No this is what what the bait looks like after 35 hours of fishing it has alittle hook rash the hardware is 350lb triple coil split rings with 250lbs spro barrel swivel hooks are 5x 1/0 BKK rapture treble hooks. The earrings are the same thing thing just 250lbs and the hooks are ryugi 1/0 twin brutal. I was trying to parallel cast a dock had my thumb slip on the spool midcast. Sent the bait flying into the dock .It bent out the second hook eyelet. But it still super solid even tho the bait weighs 3pound 2oz with the why I have it rig up.
  3. I'm actually able to throw this on a 200 dollar muskie rod. Its a 8foot 6inch rod but I had the handle exstand by 10 inches. Its muskie innovations. Super mag rod rated 8 to 40oz but its a beef cake. I can throw it only for about 5 hours a week without any shoulder pain but thats consistently casting it 30 40 feet. I think I have the farthest cast with this bait compare to all the other videos of people casting. but after 8hours my cast go about 15 to 20 feet with some shoulder pain into next week I've been trying to look into setups for downrigging was looking at okuma makaira reel with 250lbs braid but I need bigger snaps. Right now I'm using mustard staylok muskie snaps #6 which is a 450lbs snap. Its hold up to 35hours of casting but i feel like i need bigger snaps and barrel swivels for trolling. Its really hard trying to find tuna tackle when you live in Idaho.
  4. I bought one, thing massive I've got it mostly as search bait. You think it be to big for bass but I was at one of my local spots there was a guy trout fishing the spot I know had some big bass. Anyway he hook into this 20 inch trout that was almost 3lbs and this 7to8 pound bass was trying to eat that thing. Guy still landed it. I Weighed and measured the trout to see how big of a bait it was trying to eat. I allways know that a 10lb bass can eat a 16inch trout. Never thought 7to8 pound bass would try to eat a 20 inch trout. I got about 35hours on my manifold with all my hardware and when its wet it weighs 50oz. I've only had a 5 pounder to come up and smack it while 8trapping it. Its really funny tho the sheer amount of 3 and 4 pounders squaring up on it. I do got plans on trying to put on a downrigger and trolling for lake trout and bulltrout. I'm still stuck on the bank so hoping I will find someone to take me.
  5. How long will it be before we get a trout color or a ghost trout color? I already pick up one just holding out for some trout color ones.
  6. I like my dobyns 908 I throw my alpha king and the 11 inch alphas as well as the 9.5 alphas, weedless Raptors and my alpha sewer rat. It has enough back bone for weed less hooks and to drive those 4x st66 3/0 on my sewer rat. It has enough tip for lighter wire hooks like th st36 I use on smaller baits like my top trouts. Where I'm not bending hooks out and loosing fish to headshakes. Heres a pic of a of 7.8 keitech fish and a alpha sewer fish no issues on hooksetting and fighting.
  7. what are some super lite combos are you guys running for your mega-dog, slobstopper, and lunker punker baits. I've been throwing my slobstopper on my dobyns 908 with a concept A. After throwing it for an hour I get fatigue in my forearm I find it not as fun as I would like to keep fishing the bait. So what are some combos you guys fish to not get wore out to fast fishing those styles of baits.
  8. Bank flip a 6 pounder sucker came straight flying towards my groin with a rat bait in her mouth. Hook my inner thigh next to my gooch. So I'm holding my boys trying not to get them caught in those KVD hooks. Meanwhile she shaking going crazy while still attached to me. This was at a local park and at this point I have a crowd. I'm sure I like a monkey trying to hump a football at this point. I Unhook her got some pics then delt with the situation lucky went into the skin like a surface piercing and not buried in the meat.
  9. 14 inch trout on a 6 inch glide bait while trout fishing
  10. I do agree with that 4-16 I feel like after 16oz its becomes to much work for the effort.
  11. I did throw the 16inch Savage gear line thru to see if it could handle it. I could only chuck it like 25 feet from the bank and felt like it was way too much.
  12. I've had mine for 2 years thrown 24ozs on it its way to much on it. IMO I think the cut off range is 17 to 18oz. 4 to 15ozs I think is the sweet spot on the rod. I've fished alot of things on that rod everthing from my superslammers 13 inch deadtwicht codename bass alpha king and the alpha sewer rat. The rod makes easy work of 10 and 12ozs baits. I haven't bought a custom rod yet but I really love how light this rod is and loads up and slings baits. I wouldn't hesitate buying another one.
  13. I pick up a daiwa lexa 400 HL left handed from a pawn shop. My reel guy has spent about 5 plus hours and 40 bucks in parts can't figure out the issue. The reel after casted and start my retrieve. If I get a strike and swing or swing without out a fish the drag won't engage and sounds and feels like the gears won't engage and just skips over the gearing can't get any pressure to build up for a Hooksett but also on the retrieve it as seems after a break 8oz of pressure my drag won't engage on the retrieve. Its not a braid slipping issue but a reel issue. Does any one know of some reel guys that could help me out getting it fixed.
  14. I spilt a whole jar of jj magic in my car. Let me tell you I did not have to worry about getting carjack from vampires for atleast a year. The smell of garlic final went away but it was pretty ruff for the first 3 months in the summer. I love garlic but jj magic takes garlic to whole new level.
  15. The 16/0 bkk titan worm hook is what you need Goodluck trying to get them in USA. If you have any friends outside the USA ask them to ship you some. Here's a pic of the alpha king rig weedless on a 18/0
  16. Bowfishing, blowgun fishing, ice fishing, carp snagging, crawdading, airguns, BBQing and drinking. Would like to do more, but only so many hours in the day and only have so much space. Hobbies I would like to do more of making hotsauce and wild forging/food preserving
  17. The one baitmakers don't sell to the public. But there's one of the first batch of slammers ever made selling on eBay for $800. Cool to have but, i would just fish it tho. I can't ever justify buying it.
  18. Thank you for sharing this info I went and bought one can't wait to try this thing out.
  19. Doesn't matter if I'm fishing spinning reel or baitcaster. I'm a lefty, my reason is simply im right hand dominate. I need all the power I can get for one of those bassmaster classic hook sets. Second I can only put so much pressure on the reel handle and if its a big fish I can pump the rod alot easier. Its crazy to me there's guys who switch reel handle sides so they don't get fatigue and I thought I fish hard. That made me realize there are levels to this game. I'm not even close to buying right handed reels just so I can fish non-stop on a week plus trip just throwing big baits.
  20. Jerkbait and frogs two things I dont do enough of. I just started jig fishing but doent really matter I still take the big bait approach with all the techniques.
  21. What ever your excuses are when fishing .The fish don't care. I repeat the fish dont care.
  22. I ended up cutting up some plastic in small pieces. Then I poured a little mend it in the head let it cure. That gave me alot more meat to grab on to with my hook.
  23. So thats the 16 inch Savage gear 24ozs it only bends the rod about 3 inches just hanging there. It gives about 4 inches more and then the rod really sends it. Need a video to show it alot better. But dang deadtwitchguy rod looks way more like a bass rod then super heavy muskie rod.
