  1. I've used them on a wood rat I made a couple years ago. I used the small power magnets. If you going to use them I have a few suggestions: Set them a 1/16" below the surface of the bait and seal over them with epoxy. If not over time they will come out even with a tight fit and super glue. You need more than 1 per hook as the force of the bait hitting the water will pop them off or put them in a dumb position and could throw your bait's action off. Tune for the hooks riding against the bait its not the same as them hanging as the drag is not the same. Make sure your bait has a much slimmer profile than the hooks. I'd also suggest cutting a shallow groove for the hook shank to sit in to reduce it falling out of position. IMO its a seems really nice to have but its not worth the hassle. I missed more strikes because of this setup that I just hang the bait now. I also think that unless the bait gets choked your going to have a super low hook up ratio unless your burning the bait and its enough to snag them.
  2. Just throwing this out there if your 2k is the spraymax in a can. You can store it after using it in the freezer for long periods and it will not harden on you. I've gone months with a partially used can in the freezer and taken it out and used it again. Just leave it out of the freezer for a day before using it so its all at room temp again and shake it and spray it like you just poped it new.
  3. The only downside to not using a utility knife or snap off blade is keeping the knife blade as sharp as possible. Definitely look into a sharpening system.
  4. If you use the Spraymax 2k in a can you can put it in the freezer to stop the chemical process and take it out a couple weeks later and use again. I had one can I used over 2 months on one off baits just fine. I take out of the freezer and let it get to room temp over a couple hours, shake an spray, then put it back in freezer. Wheres a good place to get plastic packaging like that?
  5. My dry vape - Pax 2 for chillin my brain Waterwolf - for after I'm done and want to see if I'm hitting it right. Mainly used on some local res's which only allow bank fishing. Sometimes I'll run this 3ft from the bottom and let it drift under the boat while I'm out. Get home and see all the attention it gets is really is awesome.
  6. I've been following Zombait since their kickstarter campaign. They finally started selling them and they are at icast this year. It looks like it could be a promising option for large bass. If you're not familiar with it. You put it in dead bait and its gives it a swimming presentation. They had a guy on youtube who does all the pike lure testing and the pike held on for 10 seconds or more before figuring out something was up. He doesn't use hooks so the pike naturally held on to it. It's definitely not a swimbait. However, for pursuing giants I think we have a good option for running a line off the side of the boat.
  7. You could even get a small umbrella rig and put the 6" hudd on the middle spoke and run some colorado or willow blades on the others.
  8. You will get a lot of fish that just hit it to stun it and will get hooked in the head and side. The action is what makes them crazy good.
  9. Sounds like my Fury 795 will be awesome hearing the feeding back here. Other than some small imperfections im not seeing a big difference from the champion series. Do the Fury's have the same warranty as the champions?
  10. Why are these so hard to get if there is such high demand why isn't the guy who makes these working overtime. Thats serious $$$. I wouldn't be surprised to see a custom swimbait crafter appear on shark tank this year.
  11. Thats a bad week. Damn junkies stealing change out of cars. I'd go bang on the guy's door at like 7am on Sunday. Police will just tell you file in small claims court. Good luck with both those shitty situations.
  12. I've been using the bass pro backpack with the hot / cold storage and it's held up for the past two years of heavy use. I modify the boxes to allow large baits and only bring what I need. Works out great for me.
  13. That sucks, ebay is a crazy place you never know who your dealing with. I wish ebay would handle fullfilment like the amazon marketplace.
  14. I'd like to see more shops start carrying swimbait gear in MA. Using ping services to track page updates for when products become available is getting very old.
  15. I only buy what I need for the season. when I buy its for a specific color pattern and action. I mainly fish on a cold water res next to my house which doesn't allow boats or even your feet in the water. Tons of fishing pressure. I only bring what they will be feeding on and will be most useful in the area I'm hiking that day. Fishing in MA is fairly easy with shad and perch colors so it narrows it down for me.
