  1. i throw one on a irod gen 2 paul baily swimbait rod
  2. I got a bad punker a few months ago, i just sent him an email through his website and he replied within a day or two, sent him my bait to replace and he sent me a new one and an extra bait to offset the shipping. Everything went pretty good for me!
  3. In the last 2 weeks I have been out a few times throwing the punker, I have got 6 fish into the boat and have had just one that was on and came off. Not counting missed blow ups of course. All were 3-5 lbs. You might try a thinner wired hook for so it can penetrate a little easier, just keep an eye on them bending. Also your rod could possibly be too stiff, everything you listed are treble hook baits so a softer action rod would be better. I do like to keep the rod tip down and just horse them into the boat and not give them a chance to jump or fight too much.
  4. Got this girl in on the 8 inch punker this morning, missed a few more bites on it and lost another 4-5lber on a slammer. This one weighed in right at 4 pounds.
  5. I'll take that 175 natural trout pm me paypal info
  6. http://www.tackleunderground.com/ I would recommend Basswood blocks to start with. Can get at most hobby/craft stores.
  7. I was at Almanor 2 weekends ago and the bed fishing was on fire, i'd imagine it still is as it looked to be the very beginning of the spawn. That lake is full of 2.5lb smallies, not really swimbait grade fish however. There are fish upwards of 5+ lbs but very few and far between. The honey hole for smallies up here has to be trinity lake. That lake is full of 4+ lb smallies iv had some pushing 6. Also the chance of catching big LM out of there too. Whiskeytown is another option, but i have no tips for that lake, it kicks my butt no matter what i do. They are all pretty far drive from where you are at. Maybe make a weekend trip out of it! If they are too far, then definitely hit up berryessa.
  8. For the regular swimbaits you could just peg an egg weight or worm weight in front of it with bobber stops. I'm not sure if it would work on a glide since they are very balanced and it would obviously make the front way heavier. Would probably mess up the gliding action.
  9. If you have any questions about Shasta or Trinity lake, shoot me a pm.
  10. I picked one up for 140, using my Cabela's points for an extra $10 off! Pretty good deal.
  11. He did not get his verified, as there is a story behind his catch. But i do believe the lake record for a spot is in the 10lb's, LM is 15lbs.
  12. Right on man! thats a toad! A guy in my bass club is said to have caught a 10-14 spot about a month ago. He has pictures and its saved in his scale. I got an 8lb LM out of there about 3 weeks ago, but they are few are far between. Had an 8lb spot about 4 years ago also. Good job on the tournament!
  13. This might sound a little barbaric, but my dad has told me stories of how when he was a kid he would go around in the spring time and climb up the trees and take the little baby birds out of the nest, while they were still featherless or just had the fuzzy feathers, and put them up a big hook and float them down the creek and catch huge bass on them. Not quite a topwater lure but they do eat baby birds for sure!
