  8. SU Thought it may be entertaining to see what is on everyone's wish lists for baits that they hope to one day acquire. Maybe they are too hard to find, maybe too expensive, etc. I was going to make a WTB post but I realized it seems pretty farfetched as I've seen a ton for the same baits I'm searching for. Currently mine is: Sly Guy Replica Gill, Wade Hoggs, DRT Ghost, & Micro Mink Interested to hear what everyone else is looking for.
  9. Nice one, love when they Tbone it.
  10. Friday after work I set out on a mission from shore to a new spot. Not the greatest access but there were a ton of submerged trees and weed lines to I was excited to get to chucking. I took a cast right next to a tree and waited a few seconds. This fat & round one popped on the Tule Perch Joker and took me under the tree. She was just shy of 4lbs. Got past the structure to a bunch of open water & wanted to see how my new SU x DRT TiK looked in the water. First cast after a quick glide, glide, pause I got bit. Small one but good to break in the new bait. After it got dark I went back to my truck and took off. I couldn’t help myself and stopped at another place on the way home. As I was reeling in my Tule Perch Joker I got blown up on, swing, miss. This happened again shortly after. I decided to throw on a joker with rattles to see if it would help the fish find the bait -(It was pretty loud where I was as well). I was getting ready to leave and took the infamous final cast. 3/4 through my retrieve this one grabbed my bait and took it under. No question she had it. Flipped her on shore, got a quick picture & weight and put her back in the water. She was just barely above 5lbs. The bite has been slow for me this year so this was a great confidence booster.
  11. Nice work Steve, congrats on the new PB!
  12. Thanks all! I got some info from Jerry about the rago if anyone was curious. I was told it is called the two piece Delta Rat. According to him there were only 2 of the two piece with the diamond bill ever made. I was pleasantly surprised to hear it is rare bc I got it for a great deal. I will continue chucking it regardless.

    swimbait PB

Definitely a nice fish! Especially on a lure your cousin made for you as a gift. Congrats!
  14. Long post so bear with me, or just enjoy the photos. Haven’t been getting out as much as last year & the summer particularly has been difficult. I saw others having success with rats so I decided to pick one up. The one that I ended up with is different from any other I have used before as it has a diamond shaped lip on it which allows for really quiet and subtle action. It has been thriving on days with little to no wind. I know that Rago makes it but not sure what exactly it’s called. Anyway here here three of the best fish I’ve caught on it so far. The first was my biggest fish of the season but I was solo and had none of my gear (scale or wcz board). I also recently went to Montreal with my family on a little vacation. JS Forcier of Swimbait Canada was kind enough to offer to take my father and I out on a trip. After convincing my dad to drive an hour north early on a questionable way weather wise we met up with JS. We had a blast shooting the ish all day talking swimbaits, trying to communicate w the little language barrier, and translating each others dry humor. I lost an absolute giant smallie on the TK within the first hour right at the boat. The rest of the day was a total grind where he lost a smallie at the boat on a soft Rago & I lost another on a megabass dark sleeper. My dad manage to land a couple dinks on conventional throughout the day which was nice. Towards the end of the day I was throwing a TT in bone by a dock when I got smacked. JS was bummed when he saw it close to the boat but I was stoked. I landed my first pike which wasn’t huge but it was a species I could check off my list, on a swimbait nonetheless. I can’t thank JS enough for an awesome time. Hope to make the trip north of the border again soon for revenge on the one that got away.
  15. Maybe a black dog wooden shellcracker?
  16. Great fish, those wade hoggs get it done! Congrats on your new PB!

  18. Looking to sell a few baits or trade them for a wooden rat. Also just in the market for one, PM me if you have one to part with. Wooden Billed Shellcracker: $75 TYD Taquito w/ unweighted beast hook & RP Pond Shiner (was told medium sink): $40 TYD Will ship tomorrow on my lunch break as long as baits are paid for before hand. Thanks SU.
  19. So it seems like it has a little wiggle to it but did not really want to tighten when I tried. I was planning this if there wasn't a simple repair. Going to try again on my lunch break then I may just drop it off after work. Thanks everyone for the replies.
  20. It looked like on @jcolo4sho's comment he didn't have any hooks into the bait, rather he used a paper clip to hold it in place. Could be wrong but that's that Ive been doing with my burrito gill line through and it holds well.
  21. Ill try that today as well, thanks Josh I appreciate it.
