  1. I’m not a fan of flipper prices or staying on my phone looking for drops so most of my hard to find baits have been preorder. That being said the only one I’ve gotten at expected eta was KGB Chad Shad blanks. Tough call waiting or asking for refund if I was getting replies I would just hang on but I don’t blame you. The one thing I really like about preorder is it gets baits to guys who want to fish them and thins out flippers some.
  2. Best vid I’ve seen explaining different types of glides. I don’t have a strong opinion on the guy and not trying to promote him but great explanation I’ve noticed exactly what he says and it plays a big role when I pick glides. I’m a big fan of the wide stable suspending glides similar to the hinkle Shad although I don’t use one. Instead I use a phoney, taxi and hoog.
  3. The 3:16 baby wake is nice but I don’t feel the need to pay that much for a wake. I like the hoog wake and rago top trout. You can get a top trout off Swimbait city fairly cheap. In dingy water I’ve had better luck with a wake with one joint that has a loud knock. Ive done well in similar ponds with a 6in punker. Weedless soft baits sound like a player I don’t feel like I need to overpay on soft baits I’ve had a ton of success on magdrafts, boom boom baits and Osprey. Crankdowns are good in stained water as well and around grass I mostly use toxic baits and the whippersnapper looks like the bait in that size range your after.
  4. No clue what kind of water your fishing makes it hard to say. Water clarity? Forage? Primary cover? What type of lake how deep is it?
  5. Available on tackle warehouse now supposed to release in a month. Just FYI so nobody overpays for older ones. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Spro_Rat_Wakebait/descpage-SBBZR.html
  6. I can’t believe they are so easy to get. I guess a lot of it has to do with so many people looking for smaller baits in more Shad or other profiles. I guess another factor is he makes one great bait and makes alot of those instead of a different bait every month.
  7. The toxic trucha is my favorite for big bass. Another one I like very affordable is the rago top trout 9in. Your can usually get them on Swimbait city. Also recently got the hoog wake and like it.
  8. One of my favorite glides. I think people are sleeping on them because it’s a trout color and profile but they get bit. If it was a Shad glide you wouldn’t be able to get them that easy. But to me the dark trout looks a lot like a crappie. For such a big bait it doesn’t move a ton of water so I can get more keeper size fish 2-5lbs to commit than I can with a 250 or taxi. Here’s the swim vid very wide glide.
  9. What kind of lakes you fish is key. Water clarity, forage, cover, depth, ect. It’s fine to have a bait in every category for those unusual conditions but certain baits will be your bread and butter.
  10. My recommendation would be get on the Facebook page and take offers those pats baits are usually several hundred $ each. The slammers sell for close to retail.
  11. Yeah they aren’t hard to find second hand. I can’t speak for all the baits I only use the big glide.
  12. I wouldn’t count on any release dates. Besides that flippers will make them hard to find the first month or more after release. My guess is they wont be easy to get until spring. I’ll definitely pick up a few even though I have some resin Chad Shad’s. 1. They a cheaper version you can pitch around docks without as much to lose. It hurts a lot worst breaking a 150-200 bait. 2. Gives you a translucent color option that could get more bites at times and cheaper way to add colors you may not use a lot but want to have like perch. 3. good loaner if you have a friend KGB said the action is very close to resin baits biggest difference is a tighter swim on burn. That being said I don’t burn them anyway.
  13. I fished it just been a few years. Docks, rip rap and lay downs are what I would target. Grass is hit or Miss there is always bank grass but the good submerged grass like hydrilla comes and goes. If you struggle on the main lake you can try up the river you may find some shallow fish there in the current. Other big thing for me would be finding the clearest water possible so likely down towards dam would be my first choice.
  14. I bought a few from the site direct no issue got it in a week or so but it’s been a year. That being said it was the phoney original Shad glide a proven bait. There’s a good chance as demand went up they haven’t adjusted and been able to keep up sounds like that’s the case. My advice is buy off trusted buyers if you want one and be wary of new baits until you see swim vids and testimonies. I’m a big fan of the glide but luckily I won’t need to buy anymore anytime soon.
  15. Yeah I had been wanting one and was able to get it finally. Worked out great I had a buddy painting my Chad Shad blanks and I can add this one to the mix. In case your wondering about the bait it has a sick glide.
  16. Big glide no question. It’s the best time of year for me as far as getting numbers of bites. Immediate post spawn is best. The big females tend to be shallow and suspend around any shade making it ideal for glides.
  17. I will add having used many different glide baits the term glide is used generously. Majority of the baits under 9in do what I consider a walk and swim. Not that it still won’t catch fish but you can get a 3 jointed bait for probably a third of the price that does exact same thing. Ones I use with real glide bait action are the new Chad Shad’s, phoney, Arashi, BGC both sizes those are ones I’ve used. Old Chad Shad’s and hph swim and walk IMO.
  18. Yeah that’s a trade off with the narrower baits sometimes. I use a phoney and hoog and they are stable but I also like the advantages with a thinner profile.
  19. I have several I use Phoney, 6in hph, 8in hph, Arashi, og Chad Shad, and just hit the smooth Chad. Right now I would say my favorite is the phoney just for drawing power and you work it slow and it’s the best glide I’ve seen as far as suspending and not coming to top of the water. That being said I haven’t used my smooth Chad much so it may end up the one I use most. My guess in future is the phoney will be what I lean on for fish 5lbs plus and when I need solid fish in a tournament the smooth Chad.
  20. No doubt wasn’t even his personality or attitude he’s just terrible at business and planning giving dates for shipping he can’t keep. If he would just keep his mouth shut instead of making promises he can’t keep he would be fine. Good example of what I said taxi is one of my all time favorites but when he came out with the little paperweight that was huge. Getting that bait guys could get good fish vs monsters was a big seller. Also he makes baits then takes a while off that kills momentum.
  21. My guess if he keeps growing is Hoogbaits fwiw. One of the best actions on a glide I’ve seen, great customer service, and looks like high end stuff. Keeping making baits and building momentum is key I’ve seen builders take a long break and kills hype for a builder. If he can come out with another great bait or two to go with his glide that will help.
  22. I said bait but really I mean hyped bait maker. I think certain things help like collector quality looks, making several different quality baits, big social media following, and honestly making baits geared more towards catching quality not necessarily giants so they can be fished by more people and are easier to use. There are exceptions but that’s what I’ve noticed.
