  1. Anyone ever buy and try out this guy's baits. He has a great video on YouTube about building his baits and there are two glides on ebay for 200 each. The paint looks amazing but I have never used a carp painted bait before. Still trying to build a respectable collection of known good baits so I am not ready to venture this far out searching for the one yet. I feel as though I would be willing to buy a garage bait for more money than mass produced because of the attention to detail and pushing forward innovative ideas.
  2. Lean and acrylic are all strong but you may also consider polycarbonate. If you plan on target fishing you may cosine a dual pin mount so they can be changed out. This will help in tuning if you want to go bigger smaller or change the angle.
  3. Tired of my neighbor borowing my tools and never returning and saying well I thought they were mine. Done with all of that now I am killing hours engraving all my tools. It's something my dad always did but I had no idea how much time was involved.... This seemed somewhat productive and should kill some of the hard water boredom
  4. Well i want to follow up on this but the dam water here is hard. WTF i moved to the south to avoid this but it is what it is. You may find me out and about looking for open water but the temps being in the single digets at night makes that a very slim possibility. I never did get a chance to toss the 200. I got notice to mail in the 168 with the messed up action and i have yet to get that done with my family still in town. Things with that resolution will turn around quickly after there gone... So What is the deal do people fish this split ring/snap or tie direct. I have seen people talk about fishing it both ways and was wondering if one way is better or does it change the action????
  5. I saw a pair on ebay recently 175 weights and 250 lip weight
  6. This is a bait from the 50's or earlier with the steel wings. The duo version is a lot smaller and has clear plastic wings that look much more life like. I hear a lot about baits that have come full circle but i am not seeing the version that i would expect of a re-release of a classic. How is it improved over the original heldon design... https://www.amazon.com/Heddon-Crazy-Crawler-Fishing-Lures/dp/B00065PT1O?th=1
  7. He likes to work real fast and cover water. I want to see him fish like that in a kayak.
  8. Well fell off the wagon and true to style I got two 175's. I will see if they both swim the same and how I do with them. Might even freeze my butt off in January to try them out. Any chance I catch the in the dead of winter .
  9. Matt Allen uses and likes it. He will respond if you post on tactical or Facebook.
  10. Learning how to add sb to the rotation and work the lures. It's like beginning all over again.
  11. There decent bearings but only an upgrade to a low budget reel. The stock bearings in a high grade reel like an of the megabass or Daiwa steez or high end shimano's , are already so good. If you have a budget reel then they are a good upgrade and will make a big difference. If your handy at all before you spend the money take out your old bearings clean them up real well and use a light oil and it will make a big difference. If you dont want to buy a bunch of stuff a can of carb or break cleaner does a great job of cleaning them out. Be warned to do this outside away from anything you care about as break cleaner strips paint real well. Less oil is better when oiling spool bearings. I use the boca oil as its decent and comes in a good applicator, but hedgehog studios and a few others make good oil as well.
  12. I did watch the video twice before posting and he caught one on the 178 while showing the bait. Just seems that the 175 is way more popular. I will get them both eventually...
  13. Is this going to be a plastic or a silicone bait?
  14. I watched a few films on the bait and one guy was using what looked like centering pin up the jaw to keep the hook from tearing out the face. If there soft and that is an issue then it may help. These also look like a bait that mendit would work well on but i dont know that as a fact... I was interested in the larger size as this is SU...

  16. So the deps glides and can be worked like an swaiver but the hph and roman made are different?
  17. This may get expensive as the eyes are separate, and i dont know if the hooks they use are anything special. Might order a pack of the hooks to see if there any different than say a beast hook. I would hope a beast would work but who knows...
  18. If you spend as much on tackle as i do this might be something to drop in your cart. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Fishing_Lure_Eyes/catpage-FSHLUREYES.html
  19. Found these today while i am all over the net, Raining today, and wondered if they are a thing? http://gancraft.com/english/products/shape-s/ Might be a cool thing that has just not caught on yet????
  20. Don't know if your looking at used at all but i am finding the 175ss lures around 55 dollars shipped. For that price i will be trying one of those vise getting one new and deciding i dont like it. A shadly is in your price range at 140 and i am having a drift made up now. I went with piz as my first hand made glide. I feel like there is a divide between garage baits and off the shelf and i have a hard time paying full price for an OTS model. If you can find an HPH i would be all in on that...
