  1. Me too. Fishing guide buddy of mine caught a 10-5 out of Jordan Lake yesterday. Probably on a jig though
  2. Man you’re doing better than I am in N.C. and I friggin live here. Haha
  3. Very nice!. I was out there in that area this morning for work, wish I had time to fish. And wish it wasn’t cold and pouring rain
  4. Springfield XD9 Mod.2 SC or Springfield 911. Both carried appendix. Coast folder or CRKT fixed blade
  5. Thanks guys! I definitely impressed myself, haha. It’s not perfect, it blows out at higher speeds and swims a little left, but it’s way better than I thought it would be. I can’t wait to hook into a fish on this thing
  6. Swims better if it’s a little faster than this. Definitely swims left a little bit IMG_8012.MOV
  7. Not yet. Trying to finish up the to-do list around the house and hopefully get it in the water today
  8. I don’t have any woodworking tools, so I wanted to keep it simple. I’m new to the swimbait world and hear so much about the MS Slammer. I was taking a look at them and thought I might be able to make something similar. I will preface this by saying I have never made a lure, but I am mechanically inclined. I made this with a handsaw, a drill, a file, sandpaper, and spray paint (white, black, and clearcoat). I’m sure I will make tweaks moving forward but I’m excited to get this thing in the water and see how it does. It’s 8” long without tail, 12.5” with. Those are Gamakatsu 1/0 for now. With jig skirts to hide the hooks, although I’m not sure that matters
  9. Just thought of another one. Because I travel all over the southeast for work, I’d like to get a swimbait suitable travel rod and catch a bass in as many states as possible
  10. From 20ft of water? That’s pretty sweet! First thing that comes to mind is what the water clarity is like?
  11. I know this has been going on for a long time, but I’m new here, so it’s new to me This is an awesome idea. Very cool
  12. Very new to the big swimbait game but the goals this year are to catch a fish on the Gigantarel and to catch a fish on a homemade wakebait (supplies are en route) And of course the ultimate goal is to beat my PB of 8lb10oz from last year, which was a chatterbait fish
  13. I just got mine delivered today. Maybe not the best time to throw a gill bait now that the fall has arrived and Shad seems to be the way to go, but man this bait is gorgeous and I’m excited to throw it
