  1. Finally got time to test the bait and after some tubing I’m happy with the result! Now to put some paint and clear coat on it. IMG_8083.MOV IMG_8085.MOV
  2. I perder select pine. It’s easy to get and cleans up really nice.
  3. So major progress! Ready for field testing. Had to pour a couple, to get resin to microspheres ratio right. But after a bathtub test today I think I finally got the ratio I want. I will have some free time tomorrow to see how it really swims!
  4. Thanks! It’s a struggle to find time. Glad you get to be home good for the fam…and baitsmithing lol
  5. Thanks man! Appreciate it, I hope to finish before the spring.
  6. Wow it’s been almost a year since I posted an update on this lure. Had a baby and really had to put some things on the back burner! I’ve gotten most of the fins finished, I just need one more and then I can pour a mold for them . Almost done with scales!
  7. Great shape, and awesome paint job!
  8. Made some progress on this one. Sealed the scales that I have finished, still have half of one side to do. But I’m going to take a break from them and start on some fins. I was able to establish the eye holes by getting the bits I needed. The eyes are just for the pic lol! I’ll add them back after I pour my resin and paint. Hopefully my next update will be finished carving scales and fins cut out.
  9. this is going to be awesome! I love the big trout swimbaits.
  10. I love Marlin Baits! Yes, I have been watching both of these videos in detail. Lots of good info in these two.
  11. I’ve started a new project. This is my third attempt of making a working glide bait. It is a 2 piece shad imitation. I plan on using urethane fins, and casting this for resin. The joint will be a door hinge style. The dark spots on the front were where I put the eyes that I decided to move and filled with homemade wood filler. I’m probably making this too complicated but I’m really excited to get this together. I’m taking my time with this, getting the right tools and materials as I go. Any tips on making molds and casting resin would be greatly appreciated! Thanks SU
  12. I usually store them “Paul bailey” style in a big box in the car and throw what I need for the day in a Plano 3600
  13. I like the phenix ultra swimbait. It’s perfect for huds and jig style but I’ve never lost a fish with treble hooks baits on it.
  14. Got what I was lookin for. Thanks SU
