Same thing happened to me last summer. You might wanna try putting different types of hooks on your glide (a big feathered treble on the back hook works well for me) or throwing a slow sink boot-tail swimbait like the weedless hudd 68 in a shad pattern. Another thing to do is work your glide like a spook so it has really erratic action and triggers a reaction bite. Those are a couple things that got me bites, but upsizing will definitely work too. Another thing to do is get a custom painted bait that looks exactly like one of the shad in your lake. LMK how it goes

I've never thrown swimbaits on spinning gear, but you would definitely need a big reel and a heavier action rod. Its difficult to get heavy line on a spinning reel so try braid maybe? Dont throw anything too big (Swaver 168 is the biggest i would go)

My friend gave me a Twitch Ninja about 8 months ago and I always have it tied on. Even caught my 11.41 pb on it last december.

Lots of factors will come into play but I would go with something like a Hudd, Swaver 200, or trash fish

Its definitely one of my favorites, its really cheap and its really easy to fish. The sinking one has a moderately quick fall compared to some other baits(about the same as the arashi glide), so I use it for deeper fish. The floating one floats (obviously) and its a really good wakebait. It doesn't come with a snap swivel straight out of the package, so I add one to give it a wider glide. The floating one can also be used as a walking bait if you file the joints down so its almost at a 90 degree angle. The lake I fish most has lost of gizzard shad so I use the ghost blue gizzard 178 side most. I've also had luck on the baby bass and the natural color. ID definitely suggest picking one up, they're some great baits.

I dont really have much luck with craw colored glidebaits, but that could just be because of the places I fish. My best spring baits are the S waver 200 (Crystal Cinnow, I Know It, party Crasher), the Ima Glide Fluke sinking 178 (Ghost blue gizzard, The Natural), and the Evergreen ES Flat (Tanago). Those are all pretty cheap, if youre looking for more expensive baits, I like the Deps 175, I-Slide 185, Hawghunter HitchX, and the Jerry Rago Glideator. (All of them are on tackle warehouse)

I can definitely relate to this. I'm 15 and its so hard to find somewhere with good pay that hires 15 year olds. I mow yards and do other outdoor work for people and its a pretty good source of income for me. Regarding the hookrash, it actually makes the bait look like a beat up baitfish (you never really see big shad without injuries or scars on them), and it will get you more bites. If you really want to fix it, I suggest lightly sanding it and painting over it with an airbrush.

the sebile magic swimmer is really cheap and it works really well for me in shallow water. Also the ima glide fluke and the floating onimasu work pretty well too

I've got the Fitzgerald Vursa series 7'8 MH for smaller glides like that, paired up with the Tranx 200. The handle is a tad bit short but i like it a lot because i can make extremely accurate pitches around docks and i can make long bomb casts too. And for only 130 bucks, its definitely worth it

Biggest were 9.96 on a popping frog and 9.72 on a jig, but I caught a few more in the 7-8 pound range. Weighed on a rapala digital scale

I have lots of big follows when I'm throwing a medium size glidebait, and no matter what I do I cant get the fish to eat the bait. Any suggestions on what follow up baits to throw at the fish to get them to eat? Thanks!
