double san diego jam. -
its either my first swimabait fish which came when i casted when i was on top of a seawall and the fish hit once it touched water and i flipped it up 5 feet to land it, or it was when i went on a one week streak catching nice fish for my home lake.

a tatula 300 will throw a mothership with ease. and if anything just order a tatula 400 from japan tackle, its only 237 dollars compared to the 389 dollars the lexa costs.

i finally bought my first TK and in such a dope ass color. -
im in the chicago land area and i love throwing the gan craft jointed claw 178 and if you decide you want one try and buy it from either lee's bait and tackle or japan import tackle, they are shops in the chicago land area that are tight-knit with gancraft and other Japanese brands.

Glide Bait Reel Gear Ratio - Specific Small Glides
jp_midwest replied to Fatika79's topic in Down Time
you should be fine with a tatula 150, with the line you want to use and also your using small baits it should be fine unless you want to bomb cast a bait. and with the gear ratio well with a small bait you arent drawing fishing with the size of the bait but you are with the action of the baits so making it go all over may draw some bites. also if you dont mind me asking what part of IL are you in? -
it depends what type of baits your going to throw. if your going to throw only bass swimbaits or buck tails and smaller baits for musky you should be fine with a heavy or extra heavy. but if you will also throw bigger more traditional baits with musky like big gliders, full sized medusas and other baits you should probably go with something like one of these megabass ts destoyers , tenchijin, king of baccarat or hunting weapon. the hook up tackle has them in stock rn, also if you watch any of oliver ngy's musky/pike videos before he was with 13 fishing he is using a ts destroyer tenchijin.

probably the only reason people bought it.
-
i mean because it was probably more geared for the sea bass fisherman in japan. they all run braid to leaders and i would believe that they dont throw 3+ ounce baits on a antares fishing from shore like how ive seen some sea bass guys fishing.

look at phoenix pichner on insta or his YT at all around fishing he has a pelican boat and it looks pretty good and stable. jimmy vsop in insta also fishes out of one but he doesnt have any c2c

im gonna be honest im from the chicago suburbs and i literally only own 2 big baits a gancraft jointed claw 178 and a working class zero citizen 6 not because i cant afford to buy the baits but because you need to learn how to fish a few baits and fish them well and figure out how, where, when to throw baits.

Is “swimbait fishing” getting harder?
jp_midwest replied to danthefisherman's topic in The Underground
I get what you mean but also you can’t just take into account the swimbait guys. You need to Also add in the fun fisherman too. There was a big influx during the pandemic these past 2 years have been horrible conventional and swimbait fishing but this year I got on a good early night bite on a glide and soft bait. For northern IL at a small lake with not to many big fish catching a good amount of 2-3 pounders is good. It’s just being able to find a pattern with consistent bites with 1-2 baits and you will be good. -
The first fish was last night after rains had died down and it was my first fish on the citizen 6. Second fish was from last week at night on the JC 178. I keep catching the same size fish I’m just hoping for a bigger one. Can’t complain tho they are big bait fish.

im pretty sure none of the handles will not fit on a D because the D has the drag star on the outside causing it to have a special design to it. i have seen before kits to change the handle but they are all discontinued and from a few years back. the kits are not for varial/livre handles.

Looking to get a ugly bullshad painted. But Where?
jp_midwest replied to Born 2 fish's topic in The Underground
it should work. practically plastic unless the paint thinner eats up the resin. -
Looking to get a ugly bullshad painted. But Where?
jp_midwest replied to Born 2 fish's topic in The Underground
this will work good but use a red scotch pad because it equal to around 400 grit sandpaper. also question what paint do you use with the air brush and also is it powered with a air compressor or what does it use? -
2 On the jointed claw 178 slow and steady today the pictures are deceiving but they had some weight on them with some nice shoulders.
