Only the k9 comes with split/welded combo. Personally I tie directly to the line tie and leave the rings hanging below. I do this with all my lures, never tie to the split ring and always tie to the main lie tie.

I will keep a bycatch if legal. However I am targeting a specific fish to kill and eat, rather than "Not Allowed" up its day, punch a hole in its mouth, take a pic and release.

I can't. Years of conditioning to release makes me guilt trip like a mfr. Lol.

Bed fishing is lame and unethical. however, C&R fishing is not ethical Either. Popping a hole in a bass' mouth to take a pic and then release is ridiculous. Keeping fish in a live well stressed out for hours is ridiculous. Causing unnecessary stress in a fish while fighting it for our pleasure is ridiculous. The whole industry is built around egos and trophies. There is nothing sporting about our hobby, no matter how we present it. I stopped fishing greenbass and started chasing saltbass for this reason. I can't bring myself to rip another hole in a fish I do not intend to kill and eat. I do not care what others do, but I laugh anytime I hear a c&r guy give someone ish over bedfishing.

Yunique baits scout maybe

It is crazy because I am getting my short lip deeper than 3 ft in the salt.

Softbaits/glide bait reel under 1.5 ounces

I throw the TK (2oz) for saltwater bass on a 100 size reel with straigh 14-16lb floro regularly with no issue. I don't think you will have an issue throwing your specified rating on any reel that takes 130yds of 12lb floro. A 150 might give you more peace of mind, but I do not see a 200 as necessary for your needs. Also, most shimano 100reels have a lower line capacity than most other reel companies, so take that in consideration when picking a reel. -
Triple Trout or SU rat

I have a Revo Beast 7.3:1 that does 34 ipt and I put a 117 handle on it, will this hinder the performance or torque in the reel when fighting big fish? The reel is my k9 reel. Thanks Also, I normally would not put that big of a handle on a 300, but it was the only one available. Lol

"Not Allowed" yeah!

If it loads it, send it.

Hit up Mike on insta. If he does not get back there, send him an email. He is great about making things right.

I fish swimbaits in the salt and I use a 34in leader. It is the length of my middle finger to armpit, which I think gives me enough room to retie a few lures before I get it to around 12in., at which point I tie a new leader. I never run it through the guides to protect my knot. I am sure you can run it through your m1, but I don't out of habit. I rarely fish lmb, but when I do and have a SB tied on, this is how I do it.

To y'all who fish salt and fresh water, do you have different set-ups for both? Normally I try to keep my salt reels separate, but I wanted to know how others do it. Thanks

Great choice, also the new abs Wade hog/jr lures at an entry level price.

I fish them for calico and white seabass in the socal surf, I have some with 9 fish, others with 13 fish, and they are all still going. I glue the ish out of them tho, which expands the life tremendously. I once had half the tail hanging on and glued it back together. Fished like new.
