  1. Wait so you got scammed? Paid for a UFO and got a yunique??
  2. Agree, it’s a waste of time and opportunity when someone posts on your listing “I’ll take it” and then says they’ll send payment the next day, then the day after that because work got insane, and then ghosts. I do agree with OP 100% but in instances like above, even though no transaction was completed there certainly needs to be negative feedback left IMO.
  3. ha was interested if they were all swimbait fish or some on conventional bass gear! Impressive fish all around!
  4. Impressive, just out of curiosity what did you catch them on?
  5. Looks awesome, what state was it caught in?
  6. Thanks for posting that, somehow did not see that page but that’s great information and going to watch his videos. Definitely will be going with a wade hogg. Just need to keep an eye out for drops or a good used one. thanks for the help
  7. Alright I think at this point I’m probably going to go with a Toxic. so, next set of questions. I keep seeing posts about “tuned” or “mode” whipper snappers. Are some of them more for cranking than waking? Is a wade hogg the same thing as a “Wad3”?
  8. This is all extremely helpful information! How big is the whipper snapper? That may be the route I need to go, but there’s no info on size and weight on the website. and who makes the Sherpa Gill? I’ve definitely seen them on here quite a bit but have never really looked into them. The fact that the slammers seem a bit inconsistent is what worries me about getting one of them. I really like the price point, but don’t want to spend $100 on a bait that doesn’t swim properly. the only wake I have other than my shellcracker is a timberflash. I’ve put a considerable amount of time into it but have yet to even get a blowup. I’m not sure it swims very well though, when I reel it close by a lot of times it seems to have a very minimal swimming action that I can’t seem to fix by speeding up or slowing down. So a slammer that doesn’t swim great would be rather disappointing.
  9. I’ve been throwing my shellcracker and while it’s been fun, I now have the itch to go bigger. Right now my top 2 are the 9” slammer due to the following they have and a toxic wade hoggs that I’ve heard good things about but also love the looks. would likely look used on the wade hoggs. Any others that are in a similar price range (or less) and are as “reliable” as these seem to be? Which of these 2 would be more versatile?

  11. I car topped my kayak which I hate doing because it’s a PITA, drove 20 minutes to the lake, cast around a bit from the bank, and then unloaded everything. Took the kayak off the car, set up everything in the kayak, go to push off and realize I left my life jacket at home. This spot was about .5 miles from the DNR regional office so I was not about to push my luck. I packed my stuff up and went home, mad at myself but I can tell you it made me pay more attention after that.
  12. Did they put any baits up or was it just handle parts?
  13. update, I picked up 17lb CXX yesterday. I got home and filled a bucket with some water and weighed it at 21.7 lbs. My first test was with 20lb big game and a Palomar knot - surprisingly it snapped without the bucket even partially coming off the ground. Tried it again with a San Diego jam and it would pick it up and could even slightly bounce it. The 17lb CXX with San Diego jam had the same result, would pick up the bucket and could slightly bounce without any failures. Just wanted to follow up on my question - this definitely gives me more confidence in the 17lb now. I appreciate everyone’s input and advice!
  14. Don’t get me wrong, the rod does feel a little overloaded but momma didn’t raise no b***h. kidding, with that bait I’m mainly fishing around structure and it’s just a graceful pitch. I’ll find a rod better suited for it at some point but not at that point yet.
  15. No that’s helpful - I just looked and that line is .0138 in and to get similar to that in CXX you’d have to go down to 10lb… I do have some 15lb CXX that I actually took off because it “seemed” too small for this bigger 4oz bait but maybe I just need to put it back on and have confidence in it. The CXX line hasn’t given me any reason to doubt but just wanted to be safe I guess so went to the 20lb big game I had around.
  16. Alright I’m not trying to sound like an idiot, but what if there are two lines that are let’s say .017” in diameter but one could be advertised as 20lb and one as 17lb. Would you still have confidence in both? I’ve certainly seen what you’re recommending but this has always been my thought/concern with it I guess.
  17. My current setup is a Fury 795 with a Tatula 200. Recently picked up my largest glide that is a little over 4oz. With this step up in size, I respooled with 20lb big game mono. Action seemed fine for this glide but I’m worried about killing action if I want to go down to an Swaver 168 or my G2 shellcracker. Would a 17lb like CXX be a happy medium? I’m not very worried about casting off as for the big 4ozer it’s more pitching around docks and not really long distance casts. Bad idea (generally speaking) to go sub 20lb for a bait that heavy? I know there’s no way to know unless I just get it and try for myself but curious if anyone else may have similar experience.
  18. Can’t believe this hasn’t sold. If I had the extra money I would have scooped it a while ago. GLWS
  19. 5 piece is up according to his Instagram. Sweet looking rods for anyone needing a travel rod.
  20. Ha, I wish I had a picture of it but my best one I was fishing out of my kayak and it was my first trip out with a new crate I had built. This new crate had vertical rod holders, not the angled ones I was used to. Didn’t take me long to “remember” they were now straight up when I went to cast and snagged the rod behind me. Absolutely blew my spool up. I seriously took one look at it and was like “nope, not today” and just grabbed a different rod. Ended up cutting all the line off that reel.
  21. Wow. That blows. The only complaint that I have from my limited time with it is that it wants to swim left. It swims straight, but comes back to my left every time. The other complaint is that the hook hangers seem a bit close together.
  22. Winner! GLWS, both are beautiful baits.
  23. Sounds good, I’ll have to see what I can find then. I haven’t fished it much but I’m not sure it’s one I would pay to have repainted. Not a bad bait, just not in my group of heavily used baits.
