  1. Okay awesome I’ll give it a try. Yeah I love hook rash it’s just the new toxic bluegill color and I want to make it last as long as I can.
  2. I’m pretty new to the website so I’m not exactly sure if this is the right form to post in but I was wondering if anyone has tried putting an extra few coats of clear coat to help with hook rash? I have a can of aerosol KBS diamond clear which sprays super thin layers compared to the dip or brush on cans of kbs. I’ve read some posts about repaints and paint wraps on drt baits and people are saying it affects the action.. Not super sure how much I believe that for repaints especially if you were to strip off the old paint and put new paint without a super thick layer of clear coat? I think I could see more potential for effected action with a wrap. I haven’t fished these baits much so I could definitely be wrong! You guys will know better than me. Anyways Im thinking of spraying a few coats on my k9 to help with hook rash. If any of you have tried it or have an opinion let me know!
  3. So on a glide bait does the joint angle actually matter? I see all these glides with rounded joint angles that swim great but yet other guys have told me it has to be a straight 45 to 30 degree angle. one guy told me its the water hitting the back joint that pushes the tail side to side and makes the bait glide...? the bait I'm making will have the joint pin stay removable so you can adjust the screw eyes for different spaces between the joint. in this case I just don't see how joint angle would actually matter.. So my final question would be is it the joint angle that makes a bait swim or is it the distance between the joint? And If a glide bait swims straight with no glide and just cuts straight through the water on a straight retrieve is it because of the joint angle or does that now come down to how the glide is weighted?
  4. Hey guys I’m working on my first build and I’m wondering what wire and size to use for the hinge. I’m going to do two screw eyes with a rod through the middle. Not sure what size to make it or where to buy it. Also need to know what size I should use for the main eye for tie on. Any answers would be great!
