  1. The purple lure is a big paddler style surface lure. Have a bib across the front to make them walk across the water. Similar action to the wake baits but makes more splash and noise
  2. I see you guys throw a lot of wake baits, walk the dog style baits and even creepers with wings on surface. Do you use many paddler type surface lures? that would be my go in those conditions over the weed. Its a bit noisier and displaces a bit more water which the fish will hopefully pick up on through the chop from the wind.
  3. It has held up pretty good so far just has teeth marks in it. Most hits have been head shots though, don't know how the join will hold up with more tail hits. The hook keeper has ripped out but its pretty easy to glue or melt back up. I did try to put the hook on top to make it more weedless, but then it swam upside down and sideways. Haven't played around with it enough to see if more weight in the bottom would counter this, but then obviously it would swim deeper as well.
  4. Came across your story after doing a search for Murray Cod. I'm actually from Narrandera and work as a technician at the fisheries centre there. It looks like Woody took you out from your launch photo, he would have been my supervisor at the time. Murray Cod are often hard enough to catch on lures most of the time let alone swimbaits especially in the river. Hopefully next time you get the chance to chase them the conditions are favourable and it all lines up to get a good one.
  5. I mainly fish the river and big surface is my go to. Here’s a 109 I got a few months ago now on the FLAG225.
