  1. In First time here, not sure what the process looks like.
  2. Thanks, I’ll try some floro, and giving It a little pop to get started. I have some weigh strips, should I look at the deps260 specific weights?
  3. I don't have much experience with the 250 specifically, but with the same, S motion style, i like a slow wind, with occasional pauses, to trigger a bite. think like the bait turns around and looks behind it (if you can imagine). Not sure if that makes sense.
  4. Master one bait before you buy the next, lol but i'm a hypocrite. I think tacticalbassin did a video for people that want to start swimbaiting, about the mentality, ect. I vaguely remember it being pretty helpful.
  5. I should add the issue with coming in straight is only when i'm trying to work it really slow, Im pretty new to the Slide Swimmers in general so that just might how the bait is.
  6. I fairly regularly fish a glass-clear lake that drops off quickly and gets deep (30-40 ft) in the areas I'd like to target. The lake is surrounded by tules, making it hard to fish the shallow areas with swimbaits. When I try to fish a 250, it rises before I can effectively fish the deeper water, and the joint often gets stuck? when I'm reeling in slowly, the lure comes in straight. Any advise? (this is the southern california area). I'm going to try some floro and possibly weight strips but i would like to keep the same slow sink rate if i can.
  7. Hey Swimbait Underground I wanted to bring attention to an important issue affecting our local California waters. Corvina, a fragile and iconic species, is currently unregulated in California because California is ish. Corvina are being targeted by local 55+ passenger sport boats in the back of San Diego Bay in ~15 foot of water. These boats are catching 100+ corvina per trip, which is unsustainable and harmful to the species. Please take a minute to check out this petition and consider signing to support regulation of corvina fishing: https://chng.it/XsykzH5KhM Let's work together to protect these incredible fish and ensure the long-term health of the limited resources. I know this isn’t very Swimbait oriented, but I know there will be people that agree that this is ridiculous. PS a limited number of people do target them with swimbaits lol. If you can share this message it would be greatly appreciated

    Corvina

I’m going to post this on a main board, but this is a recent issue that I became aware of recently, and I am really passionate about and frankly pissed off about. Corvina

I've seen them, I actually met one of @bowsarrows43 friends working a 2.5day trip awhile ago, I think he uses one of the baldy's baits. its a small world.

    Corvina

Awesome, and on top water too, ill have to post my biggest one, about 7-8 lbs.
  11. I think they look much better, i fell in love with the reel before i bought it lol. I just wish they were more like 300sz reel than a combo of 200 and 300.
  12. Try the less expensive smaller dodge? needs no tuning.

    Corvina

Anybody fish Swimbaits for corvina in sandiego? ive been wanting to try for them.
  14. theres 2 sounds lol, one is just a slight roughness, i can tell its just a simple Bearing, the other is a strange hollow, kind of crackling sound, i think a small grain of sand or dirt made its way in a bearing, thats intermittent too.
  15. Crawlers are crazy effective for my area, I fish the bigger size pompadour, dodge/deka dodge, and a wood Imakatsu one, would definitely recommend the Raid dodge to start out, thats my go-to. durability sucks as all of the ones ive fished. the dodge, and deka dodge have readily available replacment wings for 10$. Both dodges have maribu trebles that are what i think make them so great, and hardware out of the box is excellent.
  16. Cant say ive fished the older model, but i own a 23, and i think its great, but same here a little underwhelming, i think water got in from fishing in some harder rain a few months ago and one of the bearings is getting a little rough, its weird though it comes and goes lol, eventually ill buy some nice bearings and do a service. None of my local tackle-shops want to touch it either.
  17. Local to Sandiego Here, ive experienced a few times on local lakes where they were really keyed in on shad and blowing up on schools, but wouldn't want anything to do with smaller baits, but would take larger glidebaits. as Bud95 said, the right conditions make it work. That being said Ive had good success with a 9.5 (i think) Hoog trout on a lake that hasn't seen trout. Sometimes bass fishing really makes me think I dont know anything, like im just taking shots in the dark, and i get lucky sometimes.
  18. Found some Salt -in baits, now only looking for non salt Vts 5/7 and fink.
  19. Most colors, Located in North County SD. If anyone doesn't want to ship.

    DRT Ghost

I got mine for 200$ new w/extras. search around on offerup/FB and youll find one for a good price. theres a Queen Ghost close to me right now at 215 or somthing.
  21. if you do decide on the 908, it's a great rod, + a pretty common "hack" is to look for them used on offerup/fb marketplace. They're at the length that nobody wants to ship them and lots of people start out with the 908, and upgrade to a custom rod later on, i bought mine that was almost new for 150. if you do pick one up, IMO Just save it for the ghost/mother, I dont own a mother but ive thrown my 250 and ghost with it, but I use my LDC H for the 250, just seems more suited for it.
  22. Nice one, I think i saw you out there a few weekends ago, by the buoy line/water intake. therve been a bunch in that cookie cutter 7.5lb but thin range recently.
