The video is posted in the SU tournament page also!

She bit the rat WAYYY off shore, I was lining up for a 200ft parallel cast.  Had some over run on my spool, just put some fresh line on.  Almost as soon as I started to reel, she ate it.  It was hard to judge how big it was from the distance, but 1 jump and I knew I had a monster.  1 more jump and I was about to get her onto the shore, then my bait flew out of her mouth.  I quickly dropped my rod and jumped into the water as I seen her swimming away from me.  Missed the first grab, got her on the 2nd grab.  I'll never forget this one, I was so stressed after jumping in the water but so dang happy once I picked it up and seen that giant mouth.

25 1/2in

8.04lb!

Fantastic Fish! On your own rat too! Congratulations Mike! You’ve definitely earned it!

When you fish your own baits 95% of the time its bound to happen eventually lol!  Thank you

Haha!  Yeah, lighting could have been better!  Still a great story and fish!

For sure!  I am glad you can hear me jumping in the water at least.
