Let's take a look... The handle comes swept back with machined holes and orange decor, Features rubber paddle knobs, And measures 95mm from post to post. The drag star is also swept back... And has a clicker for fine tuning... These 4 spacers below it are interesting... The cast control knob has orange highlights: And also clicks for fine adjustments... More of the clicking components... The handle sideplate is made of aluminum: Notice the metal threads and the rubber o-ring... While the braking sideplate is made of graphite: And also houses the line clicker: Which can be toggled on or off externally: One of eight ABEC-5 Japanese made stainless steel bearings: Check out the anti-reverse bearing, which has 11 micro rollers: Some impressive weaponry under the hood... And now the guts: Removed for closer inspection: With a pawl and ratchet to support the anti-reverse bearing... Another bearing sits at the base of the drive shaft: It's clutch is made of brass: And so is it's 6.4:1 gear set: The level wind is always engaged, following the line during both cast and retrieve: A close up of the line guide: Brass level wind gear too... What about the drag stack? The Citrix 350 features a 25lb drag! 3 stainless steel washers and 3 carbon drag discs... An interesting disc sits between the gear and ratchet: Onto the spool, which is rated for 240 yards of 14lb. test, Has a bearing on the braking side, And under the spool pin... And 6 centrifugal brakes, That contact the raceway to slow down the spool: Metric ruler for reference: Boca spool pin pliers are also compatible: Upgrade to ceramic bearings? go ahead... All new Citrix 350 reels will be available in both right and left hand retrieves, 6.4 and 5.4 gear ratios as well as the option for a power handle with a single knob. Nufo Posted September 1, 2013 Report Share Posted September 1, 2013 I have to admit this reel and the new 400 sized lexa have really peaked my interest. Shimano is slipping, I never would have a second thought on a non-shimano product in the past. I'd love to hear how this reel holds up to some serious abuse like some albacore fishing.
