For the majority of my baits I fish 65 power pro with 25 seaguar flouro premier topshot no longer than 6' You want the connection to be out of the guides when you cast. That will eliminate some backlashing/castoffs. Straight braid to wakes at night. Lob, dont whip casts until you feel comfortable. I havent casted a bait off yet (knock on wood) with braid. It all comes down to personal preference.

Cool I've .been using braid for a while I lost a couple with both fluorocarbon and braid. I just don't try to chuck my swimbaits as far as I can lol. Thanks for the info everyone!

I've casted off one bait so far and that was on 30lb PF. I'd also reccomend lob casting with braid until you feel comfortable using it. I prefer to not use it, however I am now keeping my 300DSV spooled with braid to try and get used to it. I feel the advantages outweigh the cons and if I dont feel comfortable throwing a bait on braid i will tie on a leader or swith to a reel that has PF spooled on it

1. If you only have one outfit, buy a spare spool . One for braid, the other for mono.

2. Braid to flouro is the bees knees on a lot of surface baits that are small.

3. I hate braid to flouro on micro guides.

4. Mono or flouro on baits 8"+.

5. You will always snap off baits. Mono, flouro or braid. It sucks but it happens.
