CPBassFishing
What knot do you braid and leader guys use for swimbaits? I used the uni to uni knot in the past but one time it failed for some reason (yes, I tied and wetted it down perfectly) and I lost a bait on a hookset. Is there a better, reliable knot besides the uni to uni and blood knot?
wtrwsel
I use the crazy Alberto knot. Easy to tie. Almost no tag ends. Do a search and the video will come up.
vikingbear8
Alberto knot

Thanks, that looks pretty reliable and no too hard to tie.
NorCalBass
I use the double uni
flaswimbaiter
Slim beauty. Are you reeling your knot through the eyes? If so, any knot will fail.
evilcatfish
I always went with the J-Knot or Surgeon's Knot and they held up well. I ended up pretty much switching to straight mono though and now I don't worry about leader connections
Bass Addict
i use the modified albright (alberto) knot as well. I glue it once the knot is tied and never had any issues. Make sure you wrap the smaller diameter line around the larger diameter line or the knot won't cinch tight. If you are running the knot throught the guides, check it often, sometimes the tag end will start to catch the guides and you could have problemos. Glue definitely helps. most of the time I either run straight braid, straight mono or floro, pending on the situation. I don't fish a lot of clear lakes were line visibility is a huge issue so running straight braid is typically fine.

Cochran53
I've had a lot of success with the blood knot. I have yet to have a failure. Like others have said, try to avoid reeling the knot through the guides.
flaswimbaiter
I dont double my line because I am using heavy braid. If you were using say 12lbs to 40lbs leader, then that would be a good idea.
Wiscokid00
I use to always use the double uni until I broke way to many leaders right at the knot. Now I use the crazy Alberta. It is smaller, easy to tie, and best if all stronger.
johnnnydukess
Blood knot holds up pretty well, nice and strong for braid to flouro/mono applications.

T.J.
I like the alberto knot. Super easy to tie and strong. I've lost baits on uni knots. And for me they are a pain to tie.
