Typical Esox

Got out again for Pusky (Pike x Musky) after my canoe expedition. Even though we were on a boat and weather conditions were far better we still struggled.

We started the day off right with the first spot producing an aggressive boatside strike from this 37.5" fish on the 8" magdraft.

We continued fishing in high spirits, getting 3 follows at the next spot with one staying in a figure 8 for well over one minute, clearly interested in eating but wouldn't commit.

We made it to the 3rd spot and almost immediately had another follow, quickly followed by a missed strike and another follow.

Spirits were still high as the fish were clearly active and looking to feed. Unfortunately this didn't last long and we fished the next 6 hours with only one follow to show, resulting in what is probably the most characteristic photo of Esox fishing.
