5-20
The Loomis 966 is a good rod. I had the older version for a while and used it to throw the Deps 250, Hudds and baits in that general weight class. It's a nice, stiff and fast action rod. Really good sensitivity. Like you might know, Butch Brown has caught tons of fish on that rod. I ordered the 965 a couple of years ago and was disappointed to see that it had single foot guides. And the guides actually sort of felt a little flimsy. Decided to return the rod for that reason alone. I wouldn't think a heavier rod like the 966 would have single foot guides but I'd at least check into it.
22RangerZ520R
I owned a couple 966C and 965C before switching over to F5's. Imo the 966C tops out around the 6oz/Deps 250 range even though it's rated higher. HCfromNC and basskickinrednick
