Ong Jim
My better looking swimbait so far. It really isn't for seriously fishing because it is made from an IKEA bunk bed post. Just to practice and see how to ballast before diving into better wood. It is 10.5" long and 5.4oz. It sits in the water with about 1/4" or a little less of the back exposed. I focused on adding weights near the middle 1/2 of the body. It has a nice glide on the surface. Could be a good alternative to a "walk-the-dog" type of lure when the fishes just aren't aggressive that day. Just picked up a block of basswood and hopefully I could post some more soon. lendaCew
Arnold
That looks awesome! Good Job bro and smart idea practicing! All my builds so far are from wooden pallets and wine crates! I want to get this thing down to a science before moving on to better wood but it's going to take a very LONG time! Lol

tybo jones
Some assembly required. Nice work man.
hoohoorjoo
You should know that different woods will have different bouyancy. Ironwood will actually sink, while balsa floats very high. Just a thought, since that lure is probably pine.

Ong Jim
Since the wood held up well after a few 30"+ stripers from the Delta, I made a few more topwater plugs with the same wood.
