swimfool
Eyes straight or wrapped for big bait? GO!
nickh87
Wrapped rods reduce torque and line twist, which will only help you bring in the big girls.
swimfool
I know the all the pros and cons just wondering What everyone was using.
basstastic27
All about preference. If you're used to strait wrapped I don't see a reason switch over
nickh87
I know the all the pros and cons just wonderingWhat everyone was using. I'm using straight for all my swimbaits, but looking to get a wrapped. I would have gotten one sooner, but outside of LDC/Huddleston I haven't really seen too many wrapped rods in retail (that aren't custom made by someone)
NorCalBass
I haven't noticed any advantages of my wrapped rod vs. My regular ones. I don't like it at all actually
swimfool
Good feedback keep it coming.
2833-34497
I've never tried the wrapped so I can't say anything, but a friend of mine that tournament fishes and throws swimbaits said he didn't like the wrapped over the straight. I think it comes down to personal preference more then anything on what a person likes as with anything.
t.musky
I don't care for the spiraled guides either. They are great on a noodle rod where the line will hit the blank because of the deep bend, but on heavy rods I don't see the need.
swimfool
Looks like straight wrapped rods are the fav's so far.
igl00jx
Preference for me is spiral. Rod twist is minimally felt, if at all. Besides, guides on top look weird
5-20
I have tried a few spiral wrapped rods and I keep on going back to the factory wrapped straight eye models.
stkbass
I have both.. I don't see much difference.. Just personal preference.
swimfool
I know a lot of guys who throws speaks and likes them a lot.
swole_t
I use both. It don't see any huge benefits to spiral that would make me prefer it over straight. But I def see where the spiral can be detremental, because if u arnt careful it's a lot easier to break an eye off the rod. The eyes are on 3 sides of the rod instead of just 1.
