TheStallionMang
What pound test braid are you using? It might not be your knot, braid is super strong to tension that is built up, but sudden, extreme bursts of energy (such as a 4 oz bait coming to a dead halt) can break it. bigpoppabass
Reverse uni is simple to do, never had a break off.
wiswimbait
Always makes me shake my head when I read about guys having problems with braid for relatively light swimbaits like a hudd. What do you think guys up here are using to throw muskie baits that weigh as much as the dead twitch and mothers? Neo
I use braid on everything. 50# SuperSlick for small baits (up to 6") 65# for everything up to 8". Learn how to tie your knot and make sure they are seated correctly. Also remember you're not flipping a 3/8 oz jig so work on your casting technique, let the rod do the work, don't whip or snap the rod tip. BigBaitsOnly
I use 65lbs braid to an Alberto knot with a 7-9 foot leader. I haven't had a break off yet. If the Alberto knot is going to fail, it does it when you chinch it down. I've only used this setup to 4 1/2 ounces.

reelfish
After the second cast off I am changing something. My line, my knot, or my cast. northeast_trev
