JustinHill
Only weeks?! Been months for me since a swimbait bite. As for the Hudd, if you think you are going slow, fish it even slower. Then slow down some more. Keep at it, you will get bit. Been years for me...what are fish? brand_new_guy
SPEEDBEAD
You say you can see them spooking with everything, even conventional baits. Well, if you can see them they can certainly see you. They spend their entire lives looking up for things that are going to eat them. Unless one is completely locked on a bed, chances are self preservation instincts will kick in and they will beat feet (well, fin) to where they feel safest. If you know where their location is, back off and make long casts past where they are staging/bedding and slowly drag your bait through the area. Try different angles, speeds, baits and times. Locating fish is one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle. SacrificeFishing, basskickinrednick and Got0ne
BigBaitsOnly
If you see them starting to bed, throw out past them to find actively feeding fish, probably near the first deep area by spawning flats. Young bucks may not be too interested in eating, but big momma may be in deeper water still feeding up for the spawn. If a slow crawl isn't drawing a strike, wait til a warm afternoon and speed up the retrieve. It may draw a reaction strike.
