LDCs.........................

Regarding the haters on the other site, I just got kicked off that forum for mentioning I saw a friend's Bullshad break while he was fishing it. I guess you have to develop a real enthusiasm for the taste of sponsor dick to fit in over there.

It's called damage control! It always amazed me why a swimbait site that makes it's money off of the viewers/members would cover up bunk or just plain crappy swimbaits . You would think a site would be loyal/honest to there members? Why would a store even sell these kind of baits??? I bet that 90% of the stores that sell swimbaits wouldn't know a good swimbait if they got hit in the head with it! Crazy..

I will not make this a habit but I just couldn't let this go without one reply.

First, I thought it was classless for Top Ramen to hijack a thread that was meant to help Ben and LDC rods sell his products, in order to get his butt hurt self promoting statement out (JMO).

Secondly Top Romen is not telling the truth here. I did not ban him from the other site. After receiving a warning and explanation that it isn't okay to post snarky comments in the buy/sell forum, no matter the manufacturer he chose to argue his point over and over. He was then given the choice to follow forum rules or he could leave, which you can see he chose for himself. The same or similar rule is on this forum:

Everyone is allowed to sell whatever swimbait related items they want. If you do not like it, do not buy it. No snarky comments allowed. You can discuss it on the main forum or through PM's if you like.

Mickey, I would have defended your baits in the same manner, this situation had absolutely nothing to do with who made them or who sponsors them. As for the last comment he made, I won't lower myself to his level to even respond.

Good luck Ben on your rods, all the pictures I have seen of them they look awesome. Back to your regularly scheduled discussion. :D

Considering the same thing happened to me and others, I am going to have to call you a liar.unhappy-054.gif

Ben, please---PLEASE raise prices on your rods.

JDM rods in the $600+ range can't even compare to your rods.

And JDM prices doesn't even account for your great customer service, ect.

You're like the "Ito" of swimbait rods. What's Ito's top rod go for? A: $1,200.

Raise your prices man!

....or he NEEDS TO, so he can better serve customers---long term, including

himself, and his family. Duh

Your  , is exactly what I would expect from someone

that hasn't built a successful business.

PS.

I back up what I said. Ask Ben if I agreed to buy any of his

productions at $200. I made him charge me more, and also customs.

I do not take anything away from guys buying at $200. Awesome for all!

Yet, as a businessman that's built many large businesses over 25 yrs.

I know that $200 can not go on---indefinetly. We will all lose at that price point.

Ben NEEDS live a good quality of life, so that my "Life Time" warranty---is

indeed a Life Time Warranty. Get....it?

See the Big Picture?

LMV, I would be careful of what you think you "know" would happen.

Does it seem like MegaBass's Ito is hurting from lowered sales?:lol:

Does it seem like Louie Vitton is hurting? Nike Jordans? Ferrari is hurting?

From $30 crankbaits and $1,200 rods. Seems like Ito's alright---huh?

Actually, if you knew your rods. You'd know that there can be justified

even $2,000 for a swimbait rod. That's right, go figure that. Ben knows it 8-)

Folks in successful business know that there is being "busy", and

there is being "productive". And "fair-profitable".

This a swimbait site, so I won't go into "Building Long Term Durable Biz 101."

I would be glad to pay at least $299 for Production, and $399 min for Custom.

And folks who want LDC to be "lifetime"---would be smarter to join me :D

I don't "know", just my "opinion".

...LMV, let me make this simple, so that your generation won't live

broke and less quality of life, as many economists predict.

So in kindness, here's my public service:

Being "Busy" vs "Productive"--Class 101 from Warren Buffett & Us.

Never do $100K of work for a 10% margin ("Busy")---IF, you can do

$75k in work/saes for a 20% margin ("Productive"). Get it?

Productive = 25% less work, 50% Profit point gain. Get it?

More time and money? = better quality of life. = more R&D = better

and new products to REAL customers, not just low ball pricers.

Say no to the "low ballers". Build long term quality focused raving fans.

Simple. Understanding this, took me with $3,000 at 19, retired by 23.

Gee, let's not forget who ROCKED the swimabait world back-when with

his $250 swimbaits--that people "knew" would not sell at such high prices :lol:

Gee, ask GLoomis what people said of his $250 IMX's, when folks were

paying $49 to $99---TOPS for a rod. People "knew" GLoomis wouldn't sell :lol:

Huh? Seems like Mickey and Gary followed being Productive vs just being Busy.

And aren't we are ALL much better for it?! 'Lifetime' means Life time with them!

101 Class dismissed.

Ben----PLEASE, raise your prices!

This is a discussion I have had with many people. Im glad your here to school us with your mastery of the "system". I wish we all had the vast knowledge, money and experience that you have. Dang I screwed my life up! :( Im 30 and not retired. what an idiot i am. Im sure Ben has reviewed his prices and the profit margin he takes in, also it says on his site that the $200 is a thank you price for all the support. Did you miss that? Prices are slated to go up it sounds like. Also, there are very few people ABLE to pay 500+ for a rod, therefore, volume of sales goes down, cutting into profits.

putting your hand made product into the hands of guys that are like yourself is the best feeling you can get. I sell my baits for $100 most of the time and the guys who buy em tell me i should charge more... but i laugh and say "im doing alright, $100 is enough". I dont need the bait money, I have a pretty good job. Thats enough for me. Im sure through his $200 price point he has gained lots of customers that later may pay higher prices, me being one. should mickey charge 500 or 600 for his very limited run hardbaits? 250 isnt much for a handmade, R&D'd, top quality bait that has changed the industry considering the very low volumes that each design is produced. Im happy not selling my soul for cash when I can help out my fellow americans in this time of economic crisis, no matter what their income.

Oh yeah, you have done no public service here buddy

...sorry couldn't read what you wrote.

I'm watching a Baby wake and Fs Shad sell for over $210 each.

"Market" seems ok :lol::lol:

Dang you good. that just shut me up!!!! Another soul sold to the almighty dollar. I'll keep my integrity.
