Craig Posted June 5, 2016 Report Share Posted June 5, 2016 To stand a chance in The Battle of the Underground I’ll need 10lb at the very least. Considering my PB was 7lb that’s a daunting task. So, with that in mind I set off on Saturday to initiate phase 1 of my BATTLE PLAN : catch few big fish and hopefully increase my PB to get some confidence. After 5 hours on the water without a fish I glided the Undertaker under some floating vegetation and it stopped dead. I set the hooks and was rewarded with my rod tip being dragged into the water. Quick fight and she was in the net. 8.5lb (3.76kg) 24.5inches, with the biggest mouth I have been blessed to see. 5 hours : 1 fish : 100% worth it! Targeting more floating vegetation I managed to land another 3 good fish, including another 6lb that absolutely engulfed the 7" Undertaker. Besides its normal action (http://swimbaitunderground.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27829-7-glidebait/?hl=undertaker&do=findComment&comment=232224) I'm getting it to swim under structure (up to 5 feet under docks etc.) and the big girls are smashing it. wallyc Posted June 11, 2016 Report Share Posted June 11, 2016 Nice bass Craig, I haven't been on the site in a week, (been on vaca, but, trying to be a responsible homeowner and doing some home improvements I've put off for about two years). I did manage a couple bass on the Undertaker, one of them about four pounds. That "Secret" you told me to keep about this lure is still a secret. When you mentioned getting the lure up under brush & docks, I know exactly what you mean. I believe like you, your design of the Undertaker warrants a secure "patent", as to retain the rights to such a great idea. You've got your 8, and I've got all the confidence in the world that you WILL get your DD. P.S....is that a lion peeking out of the bushes behind you in the picture ?
