hookedonbigbaits
Ok so it's not huge, but I was finally able to put together a good swimbait bite, and on a new body of water! This fish took my Bull Shad in front of a weed line at the far end of a spillway stream. I looked at the area and knew I had one good chance to pull a fish out of the weeds, on the first cast I twitched and paused the Bull Shad along the grass line and about half way across a massive wake came out at blew up on it! Of course I had my drag waaaaaaaay too loose and I thumbed the fish for a bit before I got the drag where I wanted it. Got her in and she was 3.22 lbs! Not really big at all, but I gave up conventional fishing in March to swimbait fish and I am stoked! On top of that, this was my first fish on my new-to-me LDC rod! everythingthatswims
You don't have to give up on conventional fishing, just keep it in the closet when you're on here Nice fish! Kingcole
