Garrett
I haven't been able to go out fishing in what feels like forever so I've been experimenting. What are your thoughts on using a single hook stinger rather than a treble? My train of thought is it will help keep it from getting caught on structure and maybe pin the fish better than a treble. Please critique and let me know what you think!
Top Ramen
Why do you need a stinger on an eight-inch Hudd? Garrett, MA Frog Man, Rogervang and 4 others
Campobassmaster
Why do you need a stinger on an eight-inch Hudd? yeah, lol . but I get his idea, could try it on a 10" or a mag or battles trout etc. Garrett
Top Ramen
Why do you need a stinger on an eight-inch Hudd? Not being snarky, BTW; genuinely asking. I've been throwing them for years and I've never thought they needed a stinger. Garrett
Garrett
I just started swimbaiting last year with a savage gear 8inch top hook and had a ton of followers and short strikes leaving teeth marks all the way up to the dorsal fin but never any further up, so I was going to try this and planning on removing it if I consistently hook them on the jig hook. gcopple
Yeah fish inhale the hudd typically. But i like the idea of having 2 jig style hooks. Garrett

I fish the savage gears as well and the bass seem to love chomping it from the tail for some reason. The concept should work! How is the hook anchored to the bait? Garrett
Thanks for the input guys! Dan, using my fly tying stuff I tied two pieces of single strand wire bent in "L" shapes to the shank with thread that matched the hud then stuck them in the back of the bait. danthefisherman

danthefisherman
It looks really clean! I couldn't even see how it was connected upon my initial inspection...but now that you told me I can just barely see it. It'll fool the fish for sure! Great job! bigpoppabass
The butch brown is only two hooks which when inserted has a much smaller profile than that. Garrett
BASS_SWINGER
Just missed a fish the other day on 8in with a stinger absolutley crushed the bait too Garrett
TackDreaming
Nice Set Up. I like the idea of a stinger on the bigger huds. Garrett
Onthefly_25
Great idea and concept! Maybe use a shorter shank punching hook or a circle hook to take away leverage on bigger baits. Garrett
