It had all the power in the world and I never felt out of control of the fish. It casts well and just feels super solid. However, the line seems to get loose and wrap on itself pretty easily which I think has to do with the angled spool. I also use funky line (hollow core) so it ay have to do with that. i have now used it for two trips and I haven't had any serious issues but the line management has worried me at times.
