Onthefly_25
I'm fishing 25lb big game Mono for my setup. I'm debating whether or not to pre-stretch my mono or not? What is the general consensus?
Codyc
I don't know what that means.... but a giant bait flying threw the air will stretch it out nice lol I've been using big game and mono for years I use to put it on make sure I conditioned it atleast 24 hours before I used it now I just spool up and go danthefisherman and basshole8190
danthefisherman
If it's line memory you're worried about, a big bait will straighten it out just fine like Cody said. I've noticed big game does like to curl back when fishing with any amount of slack line involved, but it doesn't seem to hinder a bait's action at all. gcopple
Low&Slow
Used to stretch out my line as the time back in the day. I never do anymore and really don't notice any difference. I just make sure I get a fresh batch of lines when I respool.
biggfeast
No pre-stretch, just spool it and use it Low&Slow and bassing305
bigpoppabass
No. You want some stretch if ur going that route. It acts as a shock absorber. Edited April 4, 2017 by bigpoppabass Low&Slow
bigpoppabass
Btw, Cold temps can wreak havoc on ur line. I don't leave my rigs in a cold car or boat the day before fishing.....i use kvd line conditioner when spooling running it through a lightly sprayed paper towel. For emergency on the water coiling issues, I might give it a spray of bang on the spool after a cast then reel in line.
timcauliffe
Don't bother. Big Game has little to no memory, in my experience. If you memory and bad ones at that, go to P-line.
